LACKT, when all of this is over and we're bound to separate from each other, I want you to go knowing that I'll always remember you as that ambiguously gay guy with the weird frog avatar.

Always.
Me too, though I retain the right to just remember him as "The sexually ambiguous frog",

:)
And now I, in turn, will lay claim to remembering him as that sexually ambiguous Frenchman (aren't they all?).

You're a pretty good typist for a 0-year-old. Not as good as I was at your age, but hey, not everyone can be me.

Actually I still don't get it. I mean, I posted a comic in this thread that I made over 1000 pixels wide, and it was posted fine. Shrunk down to fit the screen and all, because that's the magic of websites and stuff. They allow the comics to be taller because it's easier to scroll down to see the rest of the comic than it is to scroll sideways, which messes with the dimensions and layout of the rest of the page. Though you bring up a good point with the bandwidth.
There's quite a big difference between the forums and the Main Escapist site, especailly in regards to page width.

And surely you must realise that a resized comic page would only be readable if it was intended to be reduced to that size in the first place, so what would be the point in uploading a larger version at all?
Detail quality. Things tend to look a little nicer if you work bigger and and save them smaller. Working small to post small, even if not enlarged, doesn't have the small sharpness to it.

They're not talking about working big and saving small though. They're talking about the automatic resizing the forum does.

And he was saying that the automatic resizing the forum does applies to the comic text as well. Thus, unless you actually planned for the text to be read at lower-than-actual resolution, there's no reason to upload a high-res image, and even if you have planned for that, it's kind of redundant -- why not just post a smaller image?

Anyways, "the magic of the internet" doesn't necessarily equate to smooth scaling. Often I'll see a smaller image that's been placed in an unusual place on a blog or forum or whatever and I'll notice the trademark jaggies that indicate the original image hasn't been resized to fit the context. I'm talking about images that have been resized using styling markup, and these don't look good. I'd never want people to view my images like that.

The thing that looks ugliest on these kinds of images tends to be any kind of textual content.

You've found it. It's this thread. Spinwhiz posted about the updated dates some pages back...not too sure what page, specifically.

Everybody loves ol' soap drama...
Now how exactly would von Trier, former advocate of dogme '95, be a more appropriate choice than 20th century existential genius Ingmar Bergman?
HERESY!

P.S
Nice work though.
D.S
I respect your opinion, though I personally find appreciation for Ingmar Bergman very bourgeois. Lars von Trier is a freakin' lunatic and thus the byproduct is richly orgasmic movies. :p
Oh my. I love how you used "bourgeois." I'm sorry, but did you straighten your goatee and then run your fingers over a copy of Knut Hamsun's Hunger after saying that?
I kid because I love.

Quick question, what's wrong with drawing cat people and stuff? I keep hearing the word furry and I really don't know what that means and I'm afraid to google it.

You appear to be an unwitting member of a rich and thriving interwebz subculture. Indeed, one that I try very hard to steer clear of.

Furry's a walk in the park, wait till you see S&M dragon porn.

Although the impact of this kind of shit is usually diminished by the poor quality of the drawings.

Furry's are minor in my book. I know girls with tenticle rape fetish, I've seen DVDs of women eating, well you know. Compared to the violent, unhygenic, and even dangerous fetishes I dont see why furry is everyones pet peeve

Well, there are no tentacle conventions(Tentacons?),or eating____cons either. It's a Nerd Hiearchy with the Trekkies up there and the furries in the bottom.

Actually there cons like that I unfortunately met people that go to those things at last years Animazment. One was a girl that was cute and hit on me but then she whispered how she wanted to violate me (in the ass) and I ran like hell.
