That's awesome. Go Katie! and go Katie's mother! I am not too keen on the Star wars film (apart from the original 3) but its great that the voice actor and the artist took time out to make a kid happy :D

Well isn't this a nicer story than when the <a href=http://gawker.com/5589103/how-the-internet-beat-up-an-11+year+old-girl> Internet Beat Up an 11-Year-Old Girl. Of course it had to do with Star Wars :p. A positive note to start the day.
That's different. She escalated it. =P

For-serious, a lovely story this is.

Never underestimate the power of the force!

Really happy about this. It looks like the internet isn't just filled with a bunch of people who make trouble or do nothing. They're willing to do good as well.

Very nice, now what about the all the millions of other bullied children? Or those who were bullied as kids and have to deal with all the life long mental scars?

Don't get me wrong here, kudos to these people who helped this poor girl. But it's a drop in the bucket towards ultimately fixing the problem.
How about concentrating on the positive here, for a change? This is one girl who, because of a bunch of strangers on the internet, perhaps won't grow up to be one of those scarred adults. Rather than curse the darkness, how about praising the light? There are certainly loads of bullied kids out there, but, thanks to a bunch of caring people, there's one fewer. That's a wonderful thing. And now perhaps Katie will go on to help other kids she sees being bullied.

You can be negative, and dismiss this simply because not everyone had someone stick up for them the same way, or you can find inspiration from it. The choice is yours.

We thank thee, lords of Kobol, for the great gift that is the Internet!
So say we all.... :D

This is a really touching story and all. Guess no one told those punks that you don't frak with Star Wars fans.

Those first grade boys and their parents need to be ethnic-cleansed, and we need more Katies out there.

Woe be unto those who believe we're all "basically good." It does a disservice to people like this who try hard and go out of their ways to be good to each other, in a world full of "jackass little first graders" of all ages.
You might want to change the statement, Ethnic Cleansing means a lot different :D ... Jks

But yeah, Thankyou Kind internet.

That is AWESOME!!! :D

Well done, everyone!! I now sort of believe in humanity again. I would have liked to hear some maternal vengeance metted out on the little snotty punks that upset the little girl, but who cares, she's the real winner here!

The BIGGEST Star Wars nerd I know is one of my oldest female friends, so this 'only for boys' crap does not fly!
