It was a glorious show. I wish they made more of them. It was so cynical and very creepy at times, but... the robot whos name I've forgotten was incredibly funny.

I really enjoyed the fist season of it, but for whatever reason after a couple episodes of season 2, I stopped watching.

I'd ask for Megas XLR to be brought back before Invader Zim.

I would ask for both to be brought back. I still think that both are some of the most awesome shows to ever exist. I think it's also safe to say that Nick is regretting letting Zim go based on how often they show it.
Why does it seem like all of the most epic shows that come out almost always seem to end too soon without some sort of planned ending, but all of the crap seems to stay for way longer than than it should have?

I liked this show... but I can kinda see why people wouldn't like it.

Stupid Nickelodeon, taking it off the air before it could really get good.

I can see why people wouldn't like it - each episode is nothing more than an allegory of humanity's stupidity and ignorance.

But that is why I love it.
I never saw it as a satire on modern culture. As far as I could tell they were caricatures of humans.

Not representing actual human stupidity, just characters being stupid, for the show to work. Even the Irken were all represented as ridiculous, childlike creatures. Who elect their hierarchy based on how tall they were.

And I loved the show.
Well, as I grew older and more cynical, I appreciated Zim more for being a subtle critique of modern society than the crazy, over-the-top cartoon I appreciated as a child.

I mean, Vasquez might not have meant for Zim to be interpreted in such a way, but that's how I see it. I mean, look at the President Man. He is the perfect representation of how dysfunctional our government is.

Ah yes, this was definately one of the better cartoons from my childhood. Really struck a chord with me; had just the right delightful mix of absurd/silly humor and misanthropic parody of us 'filthy humans!' and our slovenly culture.

While I used to watch it but clearly it was abit too dark for the younger viewers who watched it. Shame they never finish the rest of the episode since I read the planned episode and they sounded great (like a episode where Dib somehow attack the Zim planet).

I remember watching the first episode because a friend had told me it was good. I was enjoying it until Gir showed up. As soon as his idiocy/insanity was established, all I could think was: "Great an idiot side-kick. He is going to completely ruin this show for me." I have never been so happy to be so wrong.

To be fair, Nickelodian got the show that really wasn't for kids. When they were pressed to make it more kid friendly, the guy running the show (Literally) described working with Nick "A living hell." That's why it died.

Which is a shame, because I love tacos too...

Nickelodian buys up some amazing shows, I hate how the kid-friendly shit makes great shows a bit worse. Didn't ruin Avatar and Zim though.

Invader Zim was a awesome, makes me want to check out this comic book the creator of the show made, apparently it's very similar to Invader Zim, but a bit darker in tone.

Best Quote from the show:
"My poor insane son" - Said while Talking to a imaginary person represented by a Hand puppet.

I use to watch it when I was younger and then re-watching some random episodes now when I'm older I got to see how really dark that show was... Loved it! ^_^
Though to be fair I'm more into the creators other work... Johnny the Homicidal Maniac for example as my avatar shows. XD
Did you know Johnny was shown briefly in the background of one episode?
He was? O_O
I'm now really loving how this was a show that kids watched. X3
It wasn't a big cameo. It was during the Halloween episode where Zim and Dib go into Dib's head. There's a monster that looks kinda like Johnny in two scenes for a second.

I did enjoy the show a lot while it was still on air. It's been a long time since I've watched it, though. It had an unusual sense of humor that I found quite funny.

Definitely one of the more deserving shows of a decade later continuation. Though to be honest I'd like to see an animated adaptation of Johnny the Homicidal Maniac and Squee too first, but Zim should be brought back and Vasquez should be given full creative rights. I know it would get very bloody very fast but y'know what? I don't care.
