Invader Zim is one of my favourite shows to have ever seen the light of day. I'm rather bummed that they cancelled it halfway through the second season because it wasn't attracting the 'desired' demographic (That being small children).
Nick has a bad habit of assuming that if it animated it must be for children, the advertisement for Avatar always were geared towards a younger male audience (10), while the show itself aimed much higher and was enjoyable to adults as well, and you could never buy female charterer action figures witch confused me greatly, that's half the main cast unavailable for purchase and it disappointed my little cousin when she wanted the whole set.

I don't know, I always fought the Avatar commercials represented the show pretty well, actually. But, I didn't hear about the toy thing.

Also, nickelodeon's shows are all kids shows because it's a kids channel. It's there thing.

Yes I do.
I liked it so much, I bought a shirt from Jhonen's shop. (A Meatghost)
Then to see what he did when Nick WASN'T holding him back, I bought Johnny The Homicidal Maniac.

Let me just say how fucking awesome it was.
YES.

So yeah, throw money at him.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA no.
Invader Zim getting on the air is basically the best example ever of incompetent executives ever.

Vasquez was becoming very popular as a cartoonist, especially with teens, and someone said we should give him a show. It wasn't until AFTER they had sat down to see the "objectionable" Zim that someone finally looked at why he was so popular and discovered the batshit dollfuckery that is Johnny the Homicidal Maniac.

Zim won't get back on Nick until they regrow the balls that allowed Rocko's Modern Life.

YES. I love Invader Zim! It's a pity we don't often get re-runs here in New Zealand.

I remember watching this show way back when it started airing on Nick. I was 10 years old at the time. And my sister was nice enough to buy a DVD for me recently, so I got re-watch some of the episodes.

The cynicism, Zim's incompetence, the misanthropy... I wish Nick would bring it back for another two seasons, maybe.

Personally, it's my most favorite cartoon ever.
Yes I am. Now explain to me... WHY WAS THERE BACON IN THE SOAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love thatshow. It also has supplied me with two lines that I use to endlessly annoy my freinds and co-workers.

If someone asks me a question:
"Yes...wait a minute, no."

If I am given instruction:
"I understand..." (while stareing at them blankly)

My whole family likes IZ. Dad likes Zim, Mom likes Gir, and I like Dib (and Gir.)

Our favorite episodes are the germs one, the one where Gir takes over the house, and the one with the dumb aliens who think Zim is human.

I use to watch it when I was younger and then re-watching some random episodes now when I'm older I got to see how really dark that show was... Loved it! ^_^
Though to be fair I'm more into the creators other work... Johnny the Homicidal Maniac for example as my avatar shows. XD
Did you know Johnny was shown briefly in the background of one episode?

I did watch it along with other shows and it was great, but the crown for best show went to Megas xlr :D

In my opinion anyway.

Still watch it, sometimes. I'm currently introducing my housemates to the glory of the Irken Empire.

Invader Zim is truly the greatest cartoon ever produced, and Nickelodeon were a bunch of idiots to get rid of it. Oh well I got the original box set, so I can watch all 31 episodes whenever I like, but God! the potential this show had was astounding. I loved it as a kid because of the insanity and now I love it as an adult, because of the satire, and the insanity. It seriously pains me to know that there will never be anymore new episodes ever again. It was going to be revealed that Dib was actually a robot, or cyborg created by his father! Every single time I think about that I feel like I'm shitting bricks.

R.I.P. :(
Even if nick wasn't a factor in the show's demise, it was already stated by vasquez that he was SICK of working on it, which would have sunk its quality into the ground. An example of this is the creator of spongebob, who wanted to end the show when, i believe, the movie was done, but the producers wanted him to keep going. And now the show is remembered as crap, because the creator was simply sick of making anymore of it, so hardly any effort is put into making the episodes what they were once before (i believe that the show even has content in it that is purposefully put in to sabotage its popularity, such as much of the disturbing images they've shown in later episodes.)
Well it's better to stop and leave everyone wanting more than let the show turn into an unrecognizable shell of its former self. Damn shame what happened to spongebob. I remember when it was really good, still obnoxious and a bit annoying, but still really good and strangely enjoyable.

I loved Zim when it was on, and while my mother disliked most of it, there were one or two parts that even she enjoyed. Mainly this-
A quote we still occasionally use to this day.

I enjoy it, not a massive fan, but it's my kind of humour. Sad thing that Nickelodeon never finished it.

Invader Zim is an ok show which unfortunately is marred by its own fanbase - by which I mean the army of dribbling, sycophantic, meme-spouting 18-year olds who seem to be engaged in a competition to display the most exaggerated Asperger's Syndrome traits.

"It's got chicken legs! Imma gonna eat you! Yup, this quote will undoubtedly get funnier with repetition! LOLROFLPMSL!"

"Gir is DANCING while WEARING A COSTUME! EPIC! LEGENDARY! OMGROFLMAOWTFBBQlolololololzors"

Oh, shut up.
