This is the REAL tragedy:
Go on HuffingtonPost..Fox News Forums....New York Times Comments section...any site, from the right or the left.

And for these sites that host supposedly "serious" people talking about "serious" issues, none of the commentary is as restrained as that on this thread. You have pages and pages of "death to _____ (insert Zionist pigs / Islamic terrorists, or whatever your flavor of the day is)" and then commentary that looks like it has been lifted from the wet dreams of propogandists. "YOUR side drinks the blood of kittens, while MY side inspired Ghandi."

I happen to think one side in this is right and one side is wrong. But I'll be damned if I'm going to pollute this last, best bastion of awesomeness with that kind of bickering.

LONG LIVE THE GAMERS!

Sorry, couldn't help myself.
Win.

This is pathetic. Iran needs to get over this and fast, especially seeing as they are becoming a more "modern" nation. Just wait until they develop their nuclear bomb, that's going to be absolutely wonderful... *sarcasm

Something tells me this videogame's target audience is *not* the western market.

Would be interesting to track its success in the Middle-eastern, Asian and Chinese markets I guess...er...such as they are?

I acctually dont know how to respond to that. Israel and Turkey are in really really bad shape Pollitically since that incident. there were talkings about full on war for a short time, Im glad it didnt come to that. but its not the issue. If a game like that uses that incident and Turkish people as propoganda it would couse a big pollitical issue Between Iran And Turkey. Thats just what i think ofcourse...

oh and by the way im a Turkish person currently living in Turkey.

I am so tempted to make abrahamic-religion/video-game puns now... anyone gonna help me out? Lighten the mood a tad, yeah I know its a serious issue trust me (i worked in human rights for amnesty). But escapist is not really the place for complex political debate.

Yid or Alive
Crash Qu'randicoot

Despicable. As a Muslim I am ashamed of the fact they are trying to promote this kind of bullshit on one of the more special days during the Ramadan.
It's a good thing they don't represent the masses...

and it's a shame that the masses think that they do...

and while I'm at it, Ramadhan mubarak to you!

Haters gonna hate?

I'm completely unsurprised, considering what a poo-flinging slap-fight this is turning into.

Devil Den 2
so that means there's a Devil Den 1? Oo

I feel rather uncomfortable when political parties start using videogames as a means of propaganda. games cost a lot to produce, and i don't think the people paying to make those games have that much money to spend on propaganda. i would assume a lot of their money would be tied up in armies and equipment.
are you assuming this would be a AAA game ?
this is Iran we are talking about here.
they are good at reverse engineering stuff, but not at developing original concepts.

i'm guessing it would probably either be a crappy Indy-esk game
or something using the source engine.

Funny how people can get mad at this AND that Medal of Honor allows you to play as the "bad guys" and kill Americans.

its for two different reasons
THIS is annoying because its nothing more then anti-semitic propaganda - which is shaped like a game
the medal of honor thing is a cheap attempt at controversy and a shameless attempt at one upping modern warfare 2
