In principle it is not bad. It is just that a lot of it seems to concentrate on rape, torture and humiliation of the female characters. Not that those things are necessarily bad as they are shown even in western porn, but as a fringe thing. In Hentai it seems to be the mainstream, which I think is not good. The fact that probably most people in this thread have come across the phrase 'tentacle rape' says all that needs to be said on this.

As far as the underage stuff goes. I would love to see the amount of loli stuff decrease/ become rare. I understand the fascination with cute in anime / manga, but that does not mean I want to see those cute characters from anime, etc naked.

But I don't support banning it either. I take a middle ground stance where I think that if 'artists' want to draw it, then fine. But they should not be able to make any money of it. Obviously this would only make sense if made a Japanese law. Then you protect the right of artists to be artistic and stop the incentive of lots of the stuff being produced.

Anyway that's my 2 cents

Pfft Sweden. If that man was in America, Australia, Canada, England, New Zealand, Hawaii, etc I bet thing's would've been different.

I don't want to sound racist but some rules are more extreme in some places then others. Isn't there a place where you can get fined at least $500 for spitting? I'm just saying not everywhere is as morally objective.

Don't know if you were being sarcastic with your comments, but certainly in Australia, England you would be treated the exact same way as the Swedish person.

In the UK as of last year, possession of any sexual drawing of an under 18 is treated the same as if it was a real picture.

The way i see it it doesn't physically hurt or abuse anybody, what can't be said about porn, of course i`m not saying that anyone forces people to shoot porn films, but i`m pretty sure that most of them would prefer to have other sources of income. Well whatever floats you boat. Only thing that baffles me about all this is that blowing someones brains out is considered less 'bad' than people making love on paper or in video.
EDIT: i changed my mind ,hentai/lolicon or whatever is terrible, it should be banned, thanks to that crap it's difficult to find any good anime when you have to go through all that ecchi spam.

Hentai is awesome. But thats my opinion.

That said, why does my (or anyones) opinion matter in this subject? Hentai's is a product that only harms, if harms, its drawer, so the final product maybe used in youre own privacy (no matter how debased) without guilty conscience. If you keep it to yourself, why should your personal sexual fetish be anyone else's business?

.. but thats just my opinion. Maybe some people just have the need push their morals on other people.
