Holding your arms to your sides, and having your hair on your face is now considered original?

How many times have you seen a character in that exact pose, standing over the freshly defeated opponent, still exhausted from the fight? Same pose would apply to all gloomy antagonists, just before the aforementioned fight.

(Answer: It's Mickey Rourke as Whiplash, the film's antagonist, but pretend you don't know that - I certainly didn't).
many of you can't seem to read, because he says its NOT iron man (which is blatantly obvious to start..)
That was edited in, apparently you can't seem to read the first 3 or so pages of this thread.

Two brooding, scruffy guys, posing while each wielding 2 weapons? That HAS to be a knock off!

No, seriously, they do look similar, but I see absolutely no reason to think that it is anything but a coincidence. Besides, what would it accomplish? Why base it on the second? It's not exactly a unique pose, I think this is a clear case of reading too much into things.

I say it has too many points of congruence to be merely coincedence. Also
<Quote=V>I, like God, do not play with dice, therefore I, like God, do not believe in coincidence
except... I... like...DO play with dice (and still don't believe in coincidence)

A better question would be:

"Why the fuck is the first Iron Man 2 poster of the fugly Mickey Rourke and not of Scarlett Johansson in a skimpy Black Widow outfit?"

Did they seriously think Whiplash would be more interesting to look at than the fucking BLACK WIDOW???

Not a copy. Too many differences. Pure coincidence.

Concept art is like music; eventually you're going to compose something that's been done before. It's just math.

Because somebody holding a pair of weapons, each in a "Low-V", whilst slightly hunched over, probably from exertion is at all uncommon.
Coincidence. Nothing more.

Wow... Whiplash looks lame. Though, he never really looked that great in the comics either, so I guess, this is an improvement.

His outfit in the comics is practically a gimp suit, so pretty much anything would be an improvement really.

I think it's a coincidence. It could be a clever ploy to steal some of PoP's thunder, but it's also a really common dramatic pose.

What? Sure, they look alike, but really?

At mean, at most, it's probally a homeage. You can't just point the finger and go "You're ripping them off!", because THAT is bad journalism.

I think the 'dual-wielding whilst staring angrily at your crotch' look has been around for quite some time. In relation to sci-fi and fantasy.

Pretty sure PoP wasn't the first game to have a guy staring into the camera holding weapons at his sides. For a weaponless variation see various metal band album photos.
