And honestly, if you just want to play a next gen morrowind, then go download a graphics upgrade and PLAY MORROWIND AGAIN.
Well said.
@ OP: Frankly, you've just mentioned changes to the combat. And it's the combat in TES which was my only pet peeve. The use of magic in Morrowind was clunky, which was fixed by Oblivion. Then in Oblivion the connection between your weapon (or fists) and the enemy didn't feel response enough, but if they're revamping it now, this could turn out to be truly epic.
Also, Oblivion shallow? What? I've played Oblivion with about Six or Seven characters and even now, in the most obscure of places, I find tiny details that surprise me. Such as walking into a fort and finding a child's skeleton lying inside a minature coffin.
Also, I think you're being a bit unfair to Bethesda. After all Morrowind got a Game of the Year and massive praise, so they could have easily made a simple knock-off sequel to capatalise on its success. Or made a film [http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=263907] or something equally vomit-inducing. Instead, we got Oblivion, which was by all accounts a fantastic game.
Don't write it off until it's out.
