As a massive Hip Hop fan I know perfectly well, when Christopher Wallace died. Incidentally I even know the name of the baby on the cover of Ready To Die. I thought it was rather general knowledge to at least know Biggie died in the nineties.

I just happen to think about that line every time 9/11 is mentioned. Partly, because the "...World Trade" was censored on a track that I listened to some years back (after 9/11). It was either Juicy edited, or most probably a remix or another song which had samples from Juicy. Crazy, huh :s

I don't blame you, because obviously, at least know when I look at it, it's hard to tell whether the quote was for why it really was, or because of facepalmingly bottomless ignorance, which you took it for.
Ah, all is forgiven. I assumed (wrongly I guess) that because of the crazy amounts of anti Hip-Hop sentiment and stigmatism on this site, you were ignorant of the basic facts. Yeah, though, I get where you're coming from, I often am reminded of the same thing when listening to 'Come Clean', by Jeru the Damaja (Cuz I blow up spots like the world trade center).

As I'm sure you can tell from my Name and Avatar, I am too a massive Hip-Hop fan, so I couldn't let such a blatant seeming error go without reprimand
Even though through an unintentional reference followed by a misunderstanding, the hunt for correcting that was for a good cause :)

Yeah, the stigma and dislike for Hip Hop is unfortunate, and quite noticeable on this site... But there's plenty of people here who share the love of Hip Hop as well.

Oh, and it was you who made that thread about love songs, featuring Cunninlynguists on the original post. I knew I had seen you before, probably elsewhere too. Oneirology is finally out too.

I didn't notice the connection until I saw it on the list so if I didn't see it, some other people didn't see it either so I don't see it as offensive. As for that Pokemon height I wouldn't really notice the connection aswell.

Maybe it's representing 9/11, maybe it's not. If it is, I think it's great, use that tragedy to inspire something great, but if it's not...then there's nothing to worry about.

While I feel sorry about the people that had to die that day and the people that suffered because of it, 9/11 is not somehow sacred or holy. It's a tragedy, it's sad, it inspires emotion, but there's nothing about it that means that we shouldn't use it to somehow infuse our videogames, movies, books, or tv with something interesting or inspired.

no the best way to balance out being responsible for innocent deaths are to take responsibility and review your politics and take the past experiences on board for a better future... but America is as likely to do this as the gravity turning upside down...
and the eye for an eye is more your style anyway... why did you attack Irak again?
Lol Irak, the reason they attacked Iraq is the same reason they attacked Nazi Germany, money. I would count that war as justified just as this one is. Saddam Hussein committed a god damn genocide he was no better than Hitler, his attendants were no better than the fucking SS. Iraq deserved to get invaded god bless America and all her allies.

I personally think it's in poor taste to include a 9/11 reference in what is primarily a children-to-preteen franchise, but the reference seems subtle enough that younger kids aren't going to get it, so I don't think there's any harm in it.

Yes it was! I actually remembered you and your appreciated shout out of 'Props' moments after the last post. Well, it's nice that this could be resolved reasonably and such, us Hip-Hop Heads must stick together!

since 9/11 is not a big deal (unless you are an American with your head stuck up your own ass) then it is impossible to get offended by it
America kills triple the amount that died in the towers every year and while it is sad for the people who died then USA as a nation did deserve it
That is the dumbest thing I've ever heard in my entire life.
/sarcasm
yes the U.S. purposely kills innocent people in numbers three times greater than the deaths on 9/11.

Next time you think of writing something, say it aloud, then see if you still want to write it.

Ok, as a New Yorker that lives right across the river from Manhattan, I gotta say: you're putting way too much thought into this.

And Bulbpidia puts the bad-ass looking dragon at 9'10".

So I don't know if there was already a post about this, but I guess in the new Pokemon games Unova is modeled after New York City, complete with it's own Ground Zero. This is caused by a meteor which then leaves a pokemon who happens to 9 feet 11 inches tall. Obviously, I doubt that the Pokemon team had any serious negative intentions here, but it does seem a bit insensitive.
That is a REALLY BIG stretch. Only one part of the entire region is based on New York City, which is on the southern tip of the central peninsula. The "Ground Zero" area is a small town in the North Eastern area of the region, and it's being "Terrorized" by a 9' 11" tall Pokémon is merely a myth, told to you by an old lady. The Pokémon in question is really just a giant Comet, it's an Ice and Dragon type. The crater is even further north than the town, and it's actually an interesting place, since it's full of fog and forests, it's more of like the miracle of life restarting after a large natural disaster, like a Volcano or a Flood. Honestly, I don't know who was retarded enough to even THINK that a Comet Pokémon terrorizing a city in what would essentially be Maine would be considered a jab at 9/11.

Seriously, it's been 10 years, let the people of that catastrophe rest in peace, Jegus Chris...

It's not so much the amount of people who died - it's the fact that it was intentional.

I don't think any human-created events but large-scale wars have caused that much death, and certainly not that quickly.

And part of the reason I'm so opposed to it is because I once said something along mowin's lines, and got my first ever mod wrath because of it. And during that 3-day suspension, I realised that a lot of friends on this site were still affected by it.

I stand by my statement.
So you don't think Hiroshima's 166000 victims and Nagasaki's 60000 victims come close to have done as much as the 3000 who died in the terrorist attacks on September 11. 2001?
Yes, you have friends affected by it, thus you have some personal ties to it. Concentration camps were worse than this because that was done with a system. This was planned, but the victims were random.
Hiroshima and Nagasaki was part of a war, but far more than 3000 were killed in a flash. It should also be mentioned that the targets were chosen partially because there wouldn't be much military action, easily said, the U.S. government chose a place where most would be civilians.
I have never said that what happened with World TRade Center wasn't a tragedy, I'm just saying that it's not that big in the context. There has been, and there are so many tragedies in the past and tragedies going on as we speak. Libya, Iraq, Guantanamo, Japan, Israel.

Explain, what makes the incident with World Trade Center the biggest tragedy in history?
