Problem is, the jackasses that bought Wii because is was trendy and hip aren't gamers. They don't buy games because Wii Sports is all they need (and to a lesser extent, Rock Band and Guitar Hero).
How did the system get a tie-in ratio of 6 then? (on average 6 games have been sold for every Wii, the same goes for the PS3) As far as I can see Nintendo's traditional titles also sell big even with the "casual" audience. Third parties are failing to capitalize on the market outside of a few flukes and seem to have no clue how to consistently sell millions. Note that not all low-rated games are actual garbage, they're just unsuitable for the kind of gamer who's fanatic enough about gaming to staff a gaming website.

So, wehen the trendy games get sick of it, who's left? The hardcore gamers- the people that play games because they have a passion for it.
No, core gaming has always been driven more by the people who play Madden than those who play Ico. Except last gen we called them casual.

Usually I hate listening to analysts, and I still do, but a Japanese analyst? That changes things slightly.

I don't have much to contribute now, so "Whatever happens, happens."

Well, you can only sell so much before everyone has one.
Nintendo can just do what they did before and release new versions of the Wii that don't do anything particularly different, yet everyone still has to buy the new model.
Any chance you might talking about Nintendo DSi?
Maybe.

Right now the last game I actually enjoyed for the Wii was NoMoreHeroes (Going to play MadWorld soon hopefully) and that came out more than a year ago! The only thing I hear right now is shallow confirmations of new Zelda and Pikmin titles, along with the Conduit.
What, you enjoyed that repetitive bashfest that is NMH? I've got dozens of better games on the Wii alone but then again I found God of War average at best and that's supposedly one of the best games of that genre.

*=May just be a page from Art of War though, "When strong appear weak, when weak appear strong".

Yeah, you got a problem with that punk? Zelda, WarioWare, and maybe Mario Galaxy were good too, but NMH was a unique hilariously fun game.
Oi No More Heroes is awesome!

And I'm right about the DSi right?

Well, you gotta do what you gotta do...
At least you are not melting a PS3 (seriously that's a waste of like $10,000,000 or however much one of those suckers cost)
That guy is a genius, he sold that thing as art for 23 grand on eBay.

Wow, this might prompt Nintendo to release some good games for the Wii...
You mean I might actually get some use out of the damn thing?
Besides Mario and maybe Zelda? Possibly. Either that or the Wii's rise to power might end up being matched by a rapid fall to oblivion.

You know I kinda want Nintendo to crash and fall on it's face.
Nintendo need's to remember that gamers will buy games, not overpriced scales, and shitty music replicators.

Why not, it gave me a good chuckle.

Hopefully this means that they won't keep pumping out Wiisports title and try something different.

I certainly hope so. The Wii was a bold idea, but now it seems to be getting less amazing in the eyes of gamers due to the lack of great games for it. The Cube' didn't have this problem.

Solutions for Nintendo:
A. New console
B. New games from franchises they ignored for a while (Kid Icarus, Star fox, Donkey Kong, F-Zero, etc).
C. Try to have some 3rd party games. (Get Rare back!)
D. Get Miyamoto to do something right.
E. Fanboys aren't difficult to please.
