I don't consider myself a particularly negative person really but these kind of people I really hate. I've never liked the idea of this kind of "street theatre" or candid camera type shit.

Wasn't even vaguely humorous let alone actually funny.

I still think the actor had it coming.

They were lucky some genuine nutter wasn't on the train who might have joined in.

Yeah, it's probably an April Fools prank. When the guys were punching Jar-Jar, they were going "Dude, whoa, man, it's just an actor, dude, whoa, hey, calm down, get out!".

When Darth-Maul entered, and the guys were like "Yo, dude, take of your mask, this ain't funny!" or something, the look on his face, that was just pure gold.

I know the video is pretty serious, but I cracked up when Darth Maul appeared.

But, it just shows that some people just cant take a joke
Joke's on you; it's pretty obviously a joke. Worse still it was uploaded for April Fools.

Sortof the actors fault for deliberately provoking some angry looking guys, but still. They could have pushed him away without smacking him to the floor.

I love Improv Everywhere, so hearing the camera man crying "He's an actor! He's an actor!" actually chilled me.
Wait, you mean he's not the actual Jar-Jar Binks?

Objection!

There is no way this was an April Fools... It's too fucking obvious, besides who would think an April Fools joke involving Jar Jar could ever be a good idea?

So yeah definately not fake, much to that actors dismay i expect
They officially announced it's fake a while ago, if you want to see the announcement Google it, horrible joke in bad taste

Eh, it was a joke, however if someone came onto the subway dressed as Jar Jar I would immediately feel the urge to punch him until his face felt like strawberry jam to my fist. If he actually got in my face I don't think I would be able to hold back.

...Fuck Jar Jar. And the prequels.

...Wait, there are actually people who LIKED the prequels?! What?

I don't think it's fake. I also think the dude got what he deserved. Taking a universally-hated character and pestering people repeatedly up close and personal in a subway was always going to end like this.

Doesn't fall under the category of "chaos and joy in public places".

I think that there are people missing the point....
This shit is funny whether it was staged or not - its just so incredibly surreal that its kinda hard not to laugh. Especially with that one shot of the sad asian child.
I mean - seriously - the combination of the budget-but-done-with-passion costume, the muffled am-dram acting, the sudden beating, the sad asian child, the protests of "HE'S AN ACTOR" - as if they hadn't guessed that he wasn't the genuine article - and then DARTH MAUL walking in like a retard to top things off is fucking priceless.
Well played.

Yeah I knew it was an april fools joke right away. No nerd dressed as Jar Jar is going to go to the three biggest toughest looking dudes and blast that line in their face over and over.

I think what needs to happen is start some underground movement where people perform april fools on the 31. Some people are surprised on april fools mostly people that don't have a calender but i think everybody would be surprised with popular youtube groups, big websites, and some companies that can keep their mouths shut celebrating a day early. It... might throw the world into a panic tho.

I'm not condoning what the New York guys did was right, but Jar Jar shouldn't have been touching them and heeded their first warning. He's an idiot.

Also, way to "finding out who the culprits are" as an excuse to promote your video. That's a nice low. But I guess it worked because here we are on the escapist, watching it.

"He's and actor! He's and actor!"

Yeah, they were all actors, and really bad ones. I didn't even read the whole April Fools thing, and you can tell right away the guys doing the beating were acting.

Don't quit your day jobs guys (if you have one).

This doesn't look like an April Fool's joke...

Shit.

I love the folks at Improv Everywhere, and it sucks to see this happen to one of their guys. I mean, maybe it was kind of a bad move to get up all in those guys faces when they did appear to be really tense.

I hope this doesn't put a damper on future skits.
