Kotick has said some weird stuff in the past, but he's on point this time around. If the studio has its chemistry set then there is no reason to make massive changes. Just give them additional resources and encouragement.
Isn't that what EA does? Bioware and Valve are still around, all EA has done is fill them up to their nose in cash so they can make better games... I suppose EA doesn't do that with all their companies, but most of them from the looks of it. I mean EA was willing to take a chance on Brutal Legend, and I have to respect them for at least that. (That's why ME2 had ungodly good graphics)

Why do I have the urge to call Bobby 'Herr Commandante Kotick"?

All non-serious talk aside, the man's a joke.
He merged with Blizzard for money.
He fired the heads of IW and took all that for money.
He says stupid things and we give him publicity for it (if only to spew more hatred at him than anyone else except Michael Atkinson)
Just get me the money, I'll make the call, and we can be happy knowing Satan's idiotic brother is off this planet.

Okay, so perhaps I'm not a fan of EA and think they do more harm to studios than good. I'll agree with him there. But seriously, could he not keep it to himself? You don't win fans by openly bashing the competition; at the very least, you give the public information and let them draw the conclusion themselves. It just makes your company look bad and immoral, and is kind of condescending to your fanbase.

Is this guy meant to be getting good publicity for Activision? I had a neutral stance on the company until he started popping up. My opinion of the company declines with every comment.

This just cries of someone screaming about how special they are, calling everyone else stupid, then calling it a day.

I guess it's as they say, the only people who try to seize power are the people who are bound to abuse it.

I wonder how many people want to take a swing at Kotick.

And Activision are number 1 because of WoW; the stupid prick admitted that himself.
Yeas but how long will that last? The Old Republic is coming out soon after all, Blizzard is going to have some stiff competition. (I mean think about it, it's a freaking Bioware MMORPG about Star Wars backed by EA who is just pouring money and resources into it. If that doesn't kill WoW then I don't think anything else will)
It's got the potential, but that sort of thing takes time. I doubt it'll throw it off in the first year at least.

Does he ever get anything right?

Like seriously? All it ever seems to be is falsehoods and insults. Just...how?

Kotick certainly knows how to let studios keep their identities. Firing the 2 guys responsible for the most successful shooter this console generation, right before their bonuses are due is a flawless game-plan. I say we listen to this man's wisdom.

Isn't this a bit like Emperor Palpatine publicly denouncing Skeletor for his evilness? We all see how you're trying to spin this, Kotick, but we know better.

To echo a common sentiment, we know you suck, Kotick.

Anyone else hear the Successful Troll Song and the Imperial March while reading this thread or is it just me?

Anyway on topic: Kotick=Troll, Troll=Says whatever they want to get a rise
Getting a rise= Success therefore i dont think he cares about how ridiculous he sounds as long as hes getting heard.

I think people just want to ***** about the guy. I honestly can't find anything bad in this news post. All seems pretty legit to me.
The problem is that his company is constantly doing the things he just called wrong.

And "implementing a support structure" is Activisionish for "taking total controll by putting pressure on everyone".

Anyway hush Kaiba, we're bored hearing about you.

He's not being stupid, just arrogant. Letting developers retain their individual identity is a good thing. It breeds good will and good games.

I hate Activision, I hate Kotick, and I hate EA. Why am I even here?

Whatever. At least EA is starting to shape up a bit (that still won't make me forget what they did to Westwood).

Because Activision is totally not doing the same, right? You might say the studios still retain "their identity" but we all know this isn't true. Their identity will count for shit once they attempt to deviate from Kotick's plan.

I never thought I'd say this, but combined with the EA spokesperson's comment about how they don't have time to address all the lawsuits by Activision against their developers, I love EA.

Valve is not part of EA. Valve is independent studio, not connected to EA in any way. EA just distributed some of their games, but it was Valve's choice.
