lol does anyone know how to read?

"I would love to see us have an online Call of Duty world. I think our players would just have so much of a more compelling experience."

All he wants is a world of warcraft, call of duty style.

I think what is funniest is that COD doest use dedicated servers, so their online should have efectivly no upkeep costs compared to something like battlefield, yet they think its justified to charge a monthly fee, what the fuck would it pay for that isnt pittence compared to the gargantuin profit marjin from the overpriced game, recycled map packs and rediculous sales.

Bad company gave its map packs away for free, and new game modes, thats me oficially never playing cod again from now, anyone want a ps3 copy....

I've been predicting this for years, and I'm no genius.
I hope and pray that should he implement this new pricing scheme, it fails.
Then the rest of the industry will see the line in the sand.

Because heaven help me if this scam succeeds...

I don't even like CoD, matter of fact, I sorta hate it, and he's still an ass for doing this.

Heres to Halo Reach stealing all the lovely "subscriptions" from Kotick.
lol..didn't bungie sign with activision?
Yes, but Bungie should be strong enough to cope with them. Hopefully Bungie has the integrity to create some actually balanced and fun games, not a pile of money, shit, and explosions.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to play TF2!
Me too! Remember, the engineer update is drawing near. Time for more free, fun, subscriptionless FPS action!

And yet he'll still make millions of dollars. Thankfully I'm a PC gamer, and PC gamers have made it pretty clear that they don't want any of activision's shit.

Honestly, though. Activision is buying up so many of the biggest developers that I can guarantee they're working on their very own console. "If you want to play CoD or whatever the hell Bungie is making next, you're going to have to buy our console and pay 50 dollars a month to play online!"

And still, millions of fans will flock to gamestop, should it still exist due to publishers finding sneaky ways to discourage used game sales, eager to pick up their very own Activision Cashbox and Modern Warfare 3 (retailing for $100)

Call of duty was hanging by a hair in my current love hate relationship with it and if this goes through I'll be throwing it in the trash and washing my hands of it. Onto better games like BF BC2 or Halo.

This man is 100% right. When I got MW2 as a gift, and while only playing it after being badgered to do so, I look at the spare money in my wallet and say to myself "I just wish there was some way I could ride myself of this wealth". And what do you know, Activision has the solution!

The story and Spec Ops make this game worth the $60 investment, but the Online play SHOULD be extra. I mean, its got so much going for it. Strategic Gameplay, Balance, a Nice Community. PLEASE, take $15 a month so you can keep up such GREAT gameplay!

... *Sarcasometer implodes*

If there going to charge money, make the Single player worth it. Its not. Also, make your game have balance, and make it more about strategy then camping and "OMG I GOT A NOOBTUBE KILL I R LEGIT" style gameplay.

The way I see it, I perfer Halo to CoD. Let em charge for CoD, more players for Halo to absorb.

Also, for Xbox owners, can they infringe on us any further? I mean, the whole "You cant use Party Chat" thing infringes on our rights; those are advertised features for XBL, cant a lawsuit come against them (since they require XBL Gold but take away the right to use part of it). Also; charging for gameplay online? Not only would we have to pay for Gold, but for service from Activision too?

Ive never been fond of the Call of Duty series, the only one I liked was the original MW, and that was mediocre at best. This propose bullshit is what kills the gaming industry, and frankly, Call of Duty, Activision, etc; you can take a flaming rod and shove it up your ass. Make and sell Millions of copies, not enough. Shit loads of half baked but popular DLC's, not enough. So now, charge everyone to play? Bull.Shit.
Nice avatar.

OT: ROFLOLOLOL Finally my friends will stop playing this and play something cool like castle crashers with me!

Ok, MMORPG's NEED subscriptions in order to keep developing content and keep servers up etc etc.

...Why would a very popular shooter game with an optional multiplayer mode be in need of a subscription fee? Y-you aren't making Azeroth or anything guys, sure you might release some new weapon or something but thats what downloadable content is for. Subscription fee's with this kind of a game only end in tears...

to be fair the cost of keeping a person on WoW and keeping a person on a FPS is the same

It would be.... If the FPS has continues content updates, servers actually hosted by the company (Most used 3rd party hosts i.e Valve, or the player hosts (-_-) i.e MW2) and finally if they had to store millions(billions) of character info (yes I know MW has unlocks, but even then they're more Off/On switches (or Local, I dunno)

So yeah.....

Hah, the funniest part is that a bunch of idiots will actually pay for this kind of shit. Won't be me I can assure "the genius" Kotick of that.
