Kotick = The gaming equivalent of the Disney corporation. Exploits its fanbase of 12 year olds in order to gain mounds of money.

I mean what the fuck? I already pay for LIVE, why the fuck would I want to play extra for one game when there is an entire library of other, and better games available for consoles.

I honestly wouldn't mind or be surprised if Kotick was buried under a ditch somewhere.

Put that 'u' back in there right now young man.
We also owe you all billions in reparations for the revolution we caused but that isn't happening.

I honestly think Kotick is just plain stupid. Not getting black ops that's for sure. Now I'm just waiting for Zampella and Co. at respawn to put something out.

Ok, MMORPG's NEED subscriptions in order to keep developing content and keep servers up etc etc.

...Why would a very popular shooter game with an optional multiplayer mode be in need of a subscription fee? Y-you aren't making Azeroth or anything guys, sure you might release some new weapon or something but thats what downloadable content is for. Subscription fee's with this kind of a game only end in tears...
to be fair the cost of keeping a person on WoW and keeping a person on a FPS is the same
It would be.... If the FPS has continues content updates, servers actually hosted by the company (Most used 3rd party hosts i.e Valve, or the player hosts (-_-) i.e MW2) and finally if they had to store millions(billions) of character info (yes I know MW has unlocks, but even then they're more Off/On switches (or Local, I dunno)

So yeah.....
Game data is stored off line. That's why MW2 is so ridiculously easy to hack.

Meh. Modern Warfare 2 sucked compared to the first one. Why would I pay for use of an inferior product to what I already own and play at no additional cost?

Dwindling fanbase for Call of Duty? You're joking right?
I think he's referring to the PC version and, if Xfire stats are anything to go by, Modern Warfare 2 has about half the play time of Call of Duty 2 and a third of Modern Warfare 1, and is in danger of being overtaken by League of Legends.

Honestly? If the CoD fanbase soaks it up (and judging by the success of the map packs, there's a likelihood that they will) then we will have a new definition for "noob".
Because it's always fun to take a cheap shot at people who like something different than you, isn't it?

Kotick plans to bring in some sort of subscription based Call of duty so obviously anyone who partakes is foolish, while you are a shining beacon of enlightenment.
You probably assume additional fees will be tacked on to existing COD franchises, forcing people to pay to play online. If we had any confirmation of this I'm sure I'd agree with you. At the moment this is an unfounded assumption. He couldn't possibly be referring to a completely new service like the MMOFPS some people are speculating about, which would be a perfectly reasonable service to apply subscriptions to. I mean Activision-Blizzard already have WOW tying up the MMORPG market, you think there's no room for a game to lock in the FPS market as well?

No, of course not. Because it's much easier to hate.

This is actually an excellent idea, and I applaud him for it. I'd be very happy to pay for the privilege of being able to play such excellent games online.
Sarcasm right?
Yeah, absolutely. Fuck that, Halo reach is where I'll be at this Autumn.

I am guessing the fee to be around $10 monthly. THAT WOULD BE (Approximately) $120 A YEAR!!!!! If that happens I am trading in all my Activision games. I am not going to spend the equivilent money of buying a new copy of MW2 every year just to play an game online. (I am Aussie, MW2 costs $100-$120 new)

Call of Duty doesn't have enough content to pay for it; especially if you're already paying for XBL. Are they listening to anyone on forums? I don't think anyone to pay to play Call of Duty when there's (the glorious) BF:BC2 to play. Would you?
