Why is Australia so strict? Pretty ironic considering it was founded by convicts.

They're not really. The problem is they have to R/18 rating so all the games that are deemed to be too graphic/scary/morally objectionable are rejected. They have no R rating for games because only kiddies play games and why would a kiddie want to shoot zombies or steal cars? They have one for films though so it's just their government being obnoxious.

Australia actually has quite a large percentage of over 18 gamers. The problem is the entertainment minister keeps on getting changed when they're is about to be a break through so it goes way down on the bottom of the list of things to do. Also I don't think I can over iterate how dumb the Australian government is. I'd rather just let the Queen rule again because at least monarchs have a reason to be retarded (not swimming outside the gene pool if you get my meaning) and she'd be less corrupt.

It's common sense to implement an R rating while you're overhauling the system. Kids don't get to play bad games and you can have lots of time to really consider the issue without pissing every single adult gamer off. They're also trying to start censoring the internet so it's really a fun place to live at the moment.

It's actually the liberals who do that with regards to violence. The conservatives are usually too worried about nipples and mild sexuality to get involved with the violence issue.

When you really think about it there are a heap of games that would be R18 if we had the classification. There's a bunch of stuff that made it through on the MA15 that really shouldn't have.

While I'd agree somewhat, this isn't really the case considering that Jack Thompson is a conservative. I know there are other examples too but I can't think of them.

I don't think "lol, Australia was a penal colony" is as serious business as you're making it sound, but I am going to point out that one of the two locations (out of America and Australia) has everything including nature trying to kill you, and leave it at that.
