Regal sluggishly pushed himself off of the ground and sat up. He tilted back and forth as he tried to get his bearings, placing his arms against the ground for support. The world looked like a blur of various colors, but eventually each object took their rightful place, and he could see a solid scene.

He heard the instructions to touch the spire while he was in his daze, so he rose to do so, though he didn't know why. His trusty pocket watch slipped out of a tiny crevice. He flipped it open and checked his status. The readings for his biological energy were fluctuating between what seemed like random numbers between 80 and 100%. "Must be caused by the gas," he concluded, and then sifted through the various dossiers of his targets while waiting for the others.

The same voice answers Dr. Grejir?s question as the voices in everyone?s head repeated what 6578 had heard. ?Well, while you were unconscious I was installed in you. I am a neural communication device. Along with this one we replaced a tooth you had with a capsule containing just the right amount of poison to kill you instantly.? Even as the voice spoke of the suicide device it sounded as chipper as ever.?I can also transmit thoughts. All you have to do is think towards one of your allies, this unfortunately can?t be done with experiment Facedancer. It was determined that installing one of me in his skull would dull his abilities. Also, 6578 can?t send messages, the parts of his brain needed for sending transmissions was undeveloped." This message was repeated to all those concious.

As Unsung touched the pillar a slot opened with Scary on the very top of it. Under it were two pistols, a large combat knife, along with a plastic bag that was labeled ?rations? contained within were many small pills. One pistol was white and had a seal of a roaring tiger. The other gun was black and had a Colt brand name on it. These weapons and supplies were in everyone else's slot as well.

Shrendius grabbed the weapons and tucked the pistols and rations into his jacket. He stuck the knife on a sheath at the side of his thigh. "Wait a sec, what if someone punches us and breaks the tooth containing the poison?" Shren asked suddenly slowly running his tongue over his teeth inspecting which they replaced.

Chimera eyes shut open as he awoke from his haze. He slowly got up and rubbed his wrists. He listened to the accented voice cheerfully speak of their contingency plan. He sighed as he brushed himself off and walked towards the pillar. Already he had plans brewing for catching the targets. "Those hunters will be a nuisance but if these experiments are good for anything we should be fine." He said aloud to any who would hear, as he touched the pillar and took his supplies. He inspected each weapon, sliding the knife into a concealed pocket in his vest, and slid the pistols into two separate holsters at his waist. He looked at his group as most made their way to the Pillar.

"All right everyone. First step should be to secure accommodations and a base of operations. Preferably both in the same building." As he said this he looked around for the city nearby.

*Why does everyone have to be making so much noise? Don't they realize I'm trying to sleep here?* Adam thought to himself as he moaned. He moved his head slightly to get a glimpse of what was going on in the room.

Adam then remembered the targets. "Ah, going to have to be alert starting now, huh?"

Regal listened intently to the voice in his head, something he had never expected to do while in good mental health. He worried that maybe his sanity was in question, until he heard the others respond to the voice, as well. His temperament remained calm and collected throughout the little speech. "I suppose it is required to maintain security," he rationalized.

"Simply do not allow yourself to be punched, doctor," Regal replied to the Shrenidus in a matter-of-fact tone.

Dennis wrapped his right hand around the white pistol and slid out the magazine, inspecting the bullets inside. Satisfied, he pushed it back inside with a click, and locked onto the side of his pants. The black Colt he inspected as well, and then tucked it away into his coat along with the rations. Nick slipped the combat knife into the back of his belt-holster, though he didn't expect to use it considering that he already had two energy blades in his arms.

He nodded in agreement with Chimera. "Yes, that makes sense. Perhaps this neural implant came packaged with information that can help us locate a suitable base of operations?" he suggested.

Unsung gripped Scary tightly in his hands and elevated it to his blood flecked eyes, shrouded in the mess of his fringe. He was inspecting it for damage and upon the realisation that it was not harmed embraced it like a loved one.

Following a giggle of relief and smile returning to full he slipped scary back around his neck, the old, worn cord of string kindly replaced with a tiny black-steel chain fastened around the neck of the little ebony mannequin like a noose.

Unsung gripped both guns, checked the safety and proceeded to slip them into the deep pockets of his charcoal-coloured cargo pants. The sheath of the knife fastened to his straight-jacket by one of the undone braces on upper part of his arm. Its position allowing it easy access and be nigh impossible to come loose.

Unsung turned to face his fellow agents brimming with the joy of the hunt seeping forth in the form of his sadistic grin. "Regal. May I please dissect Hans and his little pets, they sound like fun?"

H quickly absorbed all the information he was given. The implants in his brain helped with this, as usual. H was not disturbed in the slightest to learn of the poison capsule in his tooth. If anything, he was merely surprised they hadn't installed some sort of self destruct mechanism in him earlier. After he felt he had a full understanding, H made his way over to the spire like the others and retrieved his equipment. H holstered the pistols and knife without bothering to check them. He had never been required to do so in any previous missions and could see no reason why this one would be any different so long as he was as careful as usual.

Once he was ready to go, he listened in on the other talking. What they said made sense to H. If the mission controllers had taken such extreme measures as being ready to kill them at a moments notice, then surely their database would contain something so simple as a map of the mission area. But ultimately H decided to remain silent and see what the others came up with. His way was to follow not to lead.

Regal raised an eyebrow in response to Unsung's request. He had read the experiment's profile, so this was not unexpected, yet the way he said it was unsettling.

"That depends on the circumstances in which Hans is killed. If we have custody of the body, and a secure place for you to perform your... experiment, then yes. If not, you are going to have to go without."

The idea of being near Unsung as he tore apart a body was not exactly appealing, but Regal could always pinch his nose and look away if things got too bad. Besides, it wasn't as though he hadn't seen a corpse before.

Unsung's persona recoiled from psychosis back to his eerie childish nature. His smile becoming innocent and even pleasant.
"Thank you, Regal." Unsung responded kindly ending with an exaggerated bow.

The chipper voice answered Dr. Grejir?s question again, ?Don?t worry, the false tooth is too hard to be broken by an blunt force that wouldn?t decapitate you. If you think ?kill me? followed immediately by ?butterscotch? then a sort of enzyme will be released that will soften the tooth so you can break it while biting down on it?. As the group placed their hands on their guns the voices began informing them on the guns? features. ?The white gun is a White Tiger Claw. It?s semi auto and has a clip of 25 shots plus one in the barrel. It features a loci finder, if you think about what your aiming at the bullet will erupt while inside your target. The other gun is a standard Colt sidearm, very common in this area, 20 shots plus one in the barrel. Both these guns have DNA scanners and fire case less ammunition.

?Instituting second data transfer,? though there was a relatively quick, sharp pain everyone found that they knew the layout of the city now. Dr. Dennis could see a large spire of white light emerging from the down town area in the city. ?We have to gradually give you information implanted,? said the voices. ?Hopefully the mission controller is at the safehouse to make contact with you and will do so relatively soon.?

A voice is heard in the heads of everyone except Facedancer, he sounds to be about in his fifties and is trying hard to sound calm and cheerful. " Okay to start this off I will assume you've been briefed about why your going to San Defortuna and all of your equipment, now onto my part of this job. As your mission controller and you will not be getting my name. If you ever contact me simply refer to me as control, I will be giving you information about your targets and how you go about killing them, or capturing them that's fine too. The first target on the list, and feel free to take these in any order, is Victor Goldberg of Cyber-Prime, he is believed to have possibly tricked or mindwashed people into working with him. We are not quite sure if he mind washed them into doing it but we are certain he has people with him. He has modified his body to make him much stronger then the old man he appears to be and you will have a good chance finding him through the Logis Implant inside his skull. The next target is a man named Hans Muller who will not be alone either, he has a pack of five genetically modified animals he likes to call " Hunters " helping him and he is a very skilled at hand to hand combat and most conventional weapons. We believe he has modified his appearance so it will be hard to track him down, more info will be provided as needed. The third target is a woman this time, Serena Velarde of the Ordo Magi's Alchymy sect, Serena here was the highest ranking member of the Alchymy, odd. Well we aren't sure what she is up to either all we know is she is your current number one priority due to her high standing in the Ordo Magi, she knows too much. Ah good news as well, she can't heal herself...so if you manage to find her she won't be able to recover if you take her out quick enough. Before leaving she had dark tan skin, pitch black hair, and is very short for a woman her age...she should be around 5'7 if I had to guess, remember that IS a guess. And also she replaced her left index finger with her Alchemists stone. The fourth target is actually an experiment and a scientist this time, I thought we beat insubordination out of them early but oh well. He goes by the name Mr.Steel and is a master of all forms of combat, every single one. Hmm...No information here on the extent of the modifications of the experiments but just know that he is extremely dangerous in a fight. He is 85 and stands at 5'11 with grayed hair from his years, he is of American descent and is almost entirely covered with scars so he shouldn't be to hard to spot in a crowd. The last target is Linda Yang who is a leader in energy technologies from White Tiger labs. She has absolutely no skills in combat but she is...a convincing woman... she is expected to already be surrounded by followers. She is middle aged, Japanese, with long black hair and her left eye is cybernetic, she is short and skinny and is apparently quite pleasant. It wouldn't surprise me if you got her out of there alive even, not that you need to.

Now those are all of the targets, anything else needed? Oh and remember to tell Facedancer what he needs to know, he's not hearing this."

Adam turns to Facedancer and dully repeats the information word for word, looking back through his memory and making absolutely certain that there is no mistake.

"Now then, this Linda Yang sounds interesting. As convincing as she is I might be tempted to... join her cause?" Adam says with just a hint of sinister intent.

"But of course I suggest we go one target at a time, so as not to overburden ourselves" Adam points out, pulling his equipment out of his pillar and inspecting his audioscope. It hadn't been cleaned in some time, but it was functional, and that's all that really mattered. It was long and cylindrical, like a telescope with an earpiece, and had a gold pain to it, though that was slowly losing out to dirt and rust.

He also looked at his pistol, a Glock 19C, relatively small for concealment, and using the old standard 9x19 ammunition, it wouldn't be difficult to hide or find cheap ammo for. Along with this was his KA-BAR knife, with matte black spray paint over the blade to prevent it from shining.

He put the Glock in his front right pocket and his knife in his back left pocket. It was relatively hot out in San Defortuna and he'd likely not be wearing a jacket, so he'd have to wear baggier pants with bigger pockets if he wanted to conceal well.

Chimera shook his head at Adam. "There's a dozen of us. Looking for one at a time will draw to much attention to ourselves. We'll need to split up into teams to locate each target, once we do, then we can see if we can all come at once." The experiment quickly read the knowledge on the targets and began to make some educated guesses. Steel wouldn't risk walking outside, his appearance would probably drum up to many rumors among the locals. Most likely he is staying with one of the others, perhaps Yang. He thought, making his way to the city. Hans Muller should be easy enough to find, a quick visit to any taxidermy or hunting goods store should let us find an approximate location where we should start...

FaceDancer bows to Adam; for when it is blank it prefers not to speak. It moves to it's equipment and examines both weapons in detail, and as it does so, it's body shifts again, becoming smaller and slimmer, and developing a feminine figure. Inspection and transformation complete, she then turns back to Adam, face still blank and ghost-like. For a moment it's face shivers, then moves to form that of a young woman.

"Please ask the controller; do I carry a poison pill also?" she asks, "Can it be detected by renegade scanning equipment? Furthermore, does Linda Yang have enough technology to equip her followers?", then she gestured to the White Tiger handgun, " Would this weapon be conspicuous?"

*control, I assume Face Dancer has received a poison tooth as well? Otherwise how is that handled? Can it be detected by renegade scanning equipment? How conspicuous would Face Dancers handgun be out here? What kind of equipment can Linda Yang supply to her followers?*

Adam thinks to himself that these are too many questions, but he had one of his own anyway.

*control, one more thing, when we break our poison tooth, does it release a poison that we have to swallow for it to work?*

Angela snorted quietly for a moment as she stood and brushed a bit of dirt from her robe. She thought it was quite humorous: thought transmission equipment directly installed. Angela's inner thoughts hadn't been broken in several years of pressure, she wasn't going to spill her mind to something so simple.

Drawing a mental curtain around her mind was child's play, almost as easy as breathing considering her training. No controller would be able to listen in on her thoughts without her permission and she didn't much care if he/she/it knew.

The poison tooth though was an issue that concerned her much more. Even if she was able to somehow slip the collar of her orders, this new deadly bomb in her mouth would be another thing that would need to be circumvented is she was to escape. This was going to be harder then she thought.

She took a step towards the pillar before remembering that she was trying to play the roll of the dullard. Slowing her steps and swaying a little she moved over and touched the pillar. She was sure that a familiar pouch would be there, but she wondered if there would also be a weapon for her or not.

As Angela waited a sudden familiar compulsion cut through her mind. She knew it well and knew that there was no silencing it. Looking to Shrendius, who she knew was her authority in this field, she finally spoke in her scratchy voice. "I need permission to assume my affects." She said a dully and roboticlly as she could manage without being ridiculous.

As Angela touched the spire a slot slid open for her, in it was her familiar pouch, full of vital chemicals. Under it were the same firearms and supplies everyone else had access to. The voices began to chirp in everyone?s heads, seemingly oblivious to Angela?s trickery, ?Night fall will commence in four minutes, twenty two seconds. It is suggested that you head to the safe house under cover of night. You have three major routes that are reasonable. You could go through the shanty towns and get their quickest. Head through the Industrial District, this will take a bit more time and probably be less populated at this time of day. The longest way is to head through the countryside, of course you are the least likely to meet anyone if you take this route. Of course, you can take an unreasonable route if you wish. As soon as all of you leave the cloaking field the spire will disappear, so make sure you know what you?re doing.?

Shrendius seemed to focus on listening to something momentarily and then looked around. "You may" Shren said to Angela looking at her suspiciously. They would not send a simpleton with us, that would be ridiculous, she must be hiding something He thought as he paced around thinking.

After Regal's proclamation that Unsung may in fact get to have some fun on this mission he returned to his whispered ramblings with the hanging figure around his neck.

"I'm not afraid of the dark." He blurted out after the voices from his ear had finished informing everyone of their safe house and the routes required to get there.
"I think we should go the long way, less likely to attract attention" His smile innocent as a child's.
"And if we do come across anyone in the country area it will be easy to dispose of their bodies."
