Because bionicle was a bad idea at the beginning and they milked whatever content they could get out of it, and are now finally abandoning the line, leaving it to die as a shriveled husk. I say good riddance. Maybe they can focus on making some good lego sets again. Like this one:

My friend has the occasional bionicle and he has them sentry around his family's pictures on his shelf. It's pretty awesome actually. I never was into 'em but I thought they looked cool and go them for friends' birthday presents back in the day.

I guess lego is afraid of money.

Maybe they'll bring back the jungle ones(WITHOUT indiana jones), ninjas, pirates, and medieval. Those were great.

I loved the Bionicles, but I think they should have ended the line before they got ino=to that stupid City Island.

End it with the Rakshi and the Toa of Light, not all this parakha and underwater crap.

I never was aware that Bionicle did well...
It's possible they just want to change things up, who knows.

Wasn't there some kind of incoherent story involved in all of the Bionicle toy-line. I remember playing this flash game on their website when I was younger, I thought it was amazing. It was kind of like LOST in how it didn't make much sense but I wanted to learn more. Wonder if you can still find/play that old game

Oh man... I remember Bionicle... I played the Video game (not bad considering I was like what? 10? 9?) and I had those cool lego guys that would roll up in a ball...

Best. Action Figures. Ever.

Hell, I think even today I'd be able to play with them, as they are truly awesome little things.

They're replacing it with some "Heroes" lineup. No, not the TV series, just heroes.
Sounds interesting, but I must admit, the only reason I didn't like Bionicle was their strange obsession with making the models simpler and simpler, instead of using existing pieces to fashion a leg, they just mold a leg outta plastic and call it a part. This limited the usefulness of these parts if you cannibalize the set for parts in a model you are making.

Maybe they wern't doing as well as they liked? Or maybe it's to make room for LEGO indiana jones or something like that. I did like them when I was a kid though.

Perhaps it is not as profitable as you think it is.
I can not say for sure as I neither know nor care but I highly doubt they would stop something that is making them a lot of money.
That or they are killing it only to release "BIONICLE EXTREME!" or some other such nonsense.
Their newest line involves children's playing cards.

...on motorcycles.

I remember a long time ago when they first came out. my first thought, as a 10 or so child, these are the stupidest things ever. Lego would spend all their time making lego for retard and forget about the cool thousand piece castle and pirate sets.

In my opinion they ruined the once noble franchise of lego.

I'm doubtful that it's there best seller, I had been working at Walmart for a time and I've seen these things get clearances in huge numbers, it might have been big for a time, but they have been at this for about 8 years, I don't think that there is as much interest any more to tell the truth.

BIONICLE FTW!!!!!!!!!!! Oh well, i guess kids today just have poor taste in action figures that you can destroy repeatedly with no consequences

EDIT: BTW... I HAVE ONE ON MY COMMPUTER DESK RIGHT NOW!!! And yes I play with it, lord slice'n'dice can destroy anything!!!

Yes, because the LEGO games are terrible ideas. Yup, bad marketing there.

/sarcasm

I remember when Bionicle first came out...God, what a crappy set of models. Good riddance.

They're ending Bionicle? Aww! I still collect those things. They're badass. I have a bunch of the newer Bionicles set up next to my Vincent, Sephiroth, and Roxas figures... Bionicle was the best idea LEGO ever had, in my opinion.

The games sucked, however. Especially the one based on the first movie. It was decent, but... man, were those credits the most boring credits in the history of games. (Oh yeah, I have the first two movies, too... Never got the third one.)

Meh, I never really liked Bionicle...
Same here, it didn't give you much creative freedom.
They were pretty much buildable action figures. Pretty bland.

With Legos however, the only limit was the number of blocks you had and your imagination...

Hmmm? Oh, Lego doesn't know WHAT it's doing. They invent a line of cool things and then toss it into a bin when they feel like it. They're run by a load of Pointy-Haired Bosses.

Same here, but that's Lego for you. Actually that's toy/gaming companies in general. Run by a bunch of greedy, idiotic chimps.
