Ah well all good things must come to an end just like with everything else.
Just sucks that they are sending them out with the crappiest models. Oh well. At least I still have the shopping bag of spare parts. And my custom.

I had all of the original Bionicles! My friends and I would make them battle eacj other. I never really tried to follow the story behind them (or was there a story at all? Its late and Im on the verge of falling asleep) After that first generation I didn't really bother with it anymore. Still, it is kind of sad to see it come to an end.

Bionicles where badass. They came out when I was sort of getting out of the "playing with toys" stage, but I remember I had two of those little beatle things that rolled up into balls and two of the regular bionicles, and I had hours of fun seeing how I could rearrange/combine the parts to make bigger and better robots. Can't say it really affects me now, but it's kind of a shame that they're gone.

Perhaps it is not as profitable as you think it is.
I can not say for sure as I neither know nor care but I highly doubt they would stop something that is making them a lot of money.
That or they are killing it only to release "BIONICLE EXTREME!" or some other such nonsense.
I agree. Marketing stratagy is based on statistics and probability. If those numbers show that stopping the series will increase revenue then that is what they will do.

Do you want to know something hilarious about the Bionicles? The line included different warriors that were called the Toa, but the problem is that Toa is Swedish for toilet. So they had to pronounce it a bit weird in the movies, so that iit wouldn't sound as ridiculous as when somebody said they loved KISS (the name of which means "pee" in Swedish).

How many different series can you make man? Every time they come out with what, 5 or 6 different guys with basically the same shit. It's time for something new.

Or bring back some old school shit. When I was a kid we had like 47 space factions (ice planet people with gator colors, E logo people, leftovers from the blue and yellow guys which were before my time, robotics, aqua guys you totally just used with your space sets, straight up bug aliens with bugs for ships but looked like generic martians, etc).

If they are stopping making Bionicle then it must be for a reason, lack of sales or lack of ideas

I have some of the first Bionicles. Kinda when Lego started to go to seed. Stupidly big pieces and no freedom anymore. I'm glad they're coming back from that. Bionicle sucked. Even those Slizers before that were better.

I never did like Bionicle. To me it was just another sign that they were getting away from the things that made Lego fun. As a kid I loved their sets that were more realistic, like the Airport kit, or the kits where you could build a city. Even the Space, Medieval, and Pirate ones were fun. Bionicle, to me, just didn't lend itself to building custom things, or to be very imaginative, outside of what it was supposed to be built as.

I loved these things i combined them wth old slizer parts that let you transition back to normal lego bricks and then build like laser cannons and crap into the shoulders then again i did think the scaling was dumb the slizers where small enugh you could use them as mechs with normal lego men and fit them inside traditional Lego spaceships just about.

if i have kids i soo hope they get into Lego ive still got about a grands worth in the garage

You're kidding, right?

Bionicle was basically action figures that you had to build, and would break when you made them fight.

They looked cool, but I'd rather use the old-fashioned bricks to make something from scratch that looks cool.

On the one hand, they were cool to begin with but they very quickly became naff. The storyline got confusing and the games and films didn't help. Honestly, Maybe they now they can see what they did well/badly, and make a new better creative idea.

If you will excuse me for just a moment...

I've been playing with Bionicle for 10 years. Why would Lego do this?!

I need to go cry now...

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I loved Bionicle as a kid... but after losing count of the different Toa and Islands and times makuta could come back to life I stopped caring. The Old ones were they best though...
Its probably just as well they are stopping.

Aw. The original Bionicle sets we're well cool.

Pity, but maybe sales figures were shit in recent times or something.

LEGO's awesome

That's like if Nintendo got rid of Mario...

That's a shame, because I remember having those as a kid and playing with them all the time. I loved those things.
