Yeah, I know [UNDIRECTED_DUST] beasts are basically walking cave ins. I've fought them before, and while they can hurt themselves with the dust they usually do far more damage to your dwarves with it.

I've never had a forgotten beast just outright kill itself like this.

Yeah, it blew itself up. All that's left of it is a huge pile of rubble. I...I'm so confused. How did it blow itself up? Why did it blow itself up? What the hell is going on here?!?

I guess this works in our favor though. I'm just going to stop thinking about this and pretend it never happened.

This update is short for two main reasons; as mentioned earlier I need to study, and the forgotten beast killing itself confused me so much I couldn't focus on the game.
Maybe it was Palestinian? And, erm, devoid of all senses?

It's made of graphite, which is what people use for pencil lead. It's not terribly sturdy and he might have blown himself over an edge.

At least graphite can't spoil. I suggest making a throne out of it.

The selfsplosion was probably a combination of the dust tag and graphite being extremely brittle.

with all the problems your having just remember that no insane Super-Dwarves are running about ON FIRE and in a homicidal rage...

and that you got lucky the FB didnt nuke itself inside your fort.

Well, that was random....

But hey, at least he didn't blew himself up in your fort. That would have sucked :/

Kraken, How do you reach this screen? The only ways i can view a dwarves wounds is to hover over them with K while the wounds tab is highlighted, examine them and press H to view their health screen, or go through the (Z) Stocks menu and scroll to health.

None of these, however, go into as much detail or tell me what a particular dwarf needs to get healthy again, like yours does.

That's the screen pictured in the screenshot, So I'm not sure what the problem is for you. Do you have a chief medical dwarf appointed? I'm not sure if that actually matters, but it might have something to do with it.

I do have a chief medical dwarf, with a full team of medical staff, nurses etc. I'm running version 0.31.18, my population is 110, the economy hasn't set in and my current nobles are: mayor, captain of the guard, militia commander, manager, chief medical dwarf, broker, bookkeeper and many militia captains, if that information helps.

Here's a screenshot of what happens when i hover over a wounded dwarf using (k) and then pressing (w)

Same dwarf, only viewing his profile page

Finally, what happens if i navigate to the health screen (h) after examining (v)-(z)

The problem is, as you can see, it doesn't show anything it considers "minor", only showing if said dwarf has nerves severed, loss of function, or is infected. And IF it does display these things, it's never in detail.

I'm at a loss. I'm doing things exactly the same as you, but recieving completely different results. There are only 2 things i can think of, other than what has been mentioned, thaat might be causing this: 1) I'm using a tileset, Mayday's. I doubt it has any effect on the core game, but anything is possible i guess. 2) This fort is a save from a (slightly) earlier version. It wasn't from as far back as 40d, but it is fairly old. Version 0.31.13 at a guess.

If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. :\

EDIT: Also, in response to the other posts, i'm pretty sure he has been diagnosed. When he came in he had a lot more injuries than that, which have been slowly patched up by my medical team by applying casts, dressing wounds etc. As far as i know, work can't be started on a wounded dwarf until he has been diagnosed, but if it can then maybe he hasn't been.

Alright, I know it's been a while since the last update. I wish I could say it was purely because of schoolwork, and it mostly is, but I also caved in and tried Minecraft and I think many of you know how addicting it is at first

But I'll try and put out something today.

EDIT:

The game hates me.
