Jesus H fucking Christ on a pogo stick, do you have some sort of huge Forgotten Beast-attracting magnet of doom hidden in your stockpile? Maybe some sort of pheremone that's reeling them in?

Methinks you should try and lure it towards Yara and see if they kill each other.

heh. i think hes got some Forgotten Beast-Nip in his fort.

EDIT: just thought that you should make a pit out front of your fort and lure the FB's in there... it could work better than the HFS!

"Horrible roaring comes from the depths! The Forgotten Beasts Yara and Ebra Mu Ak have given birth to Geethax Al Nyt, the Skull Raper! A great writhing mass of primal terror. It has an elongated barbed tentacle and wants your sweet ass. Its spines are splattered with the brain gore of past victims. Beware its viral herpes!"

It's only a matter of time. Abandon hope.
Also, my initial captcha for this used Greek alphabet, seriously guys? I don't know how to type a Psi.

Quite. As someone on the "Hot Topic Escapists" group pointed out: People on the Escapist don't spam! They troll! This is pointless!

Chapter 55: From the journal of Stinthad Kekimtobul

__________________________________________________

21st Granite, 1055, Early Spring

More migrants? Great! We always need new people here in Reveredtour. Mainly soldiers after the last few battles...but I don't have to tell them about that.

...what a bunch of weirdos. Who comes up with these names?

24th Granite, 1055, Early Spring

I just realized that if we're going to be running a steel industry, we'll need a lot of flux stone. We don't have much at the moment, but luckily there's a large deposit of marble that can be mined out.

The earth below Reveredtour sure is resource rich. All it needs is some magma and we'll have pretty much everything we'd ever need.

26th Granite, 1055, Early Spring

Puppies!

Puppies are so cute and adorable. They're also absolutely delicious!

27th Granite, 1055, Early Spring

Well I now know what the worst way to wake up is now; hearing a horrifying roar echo up from the deep.

Another great beast is down in the caverns. I can't believe another one has already shown up. Moldath said its name is Ebra, the Itch of Oooze. I'm not sure how that name makes sense, but I don't question grubmen naming habits when they're the ones who deal with these things on a regular basis. Ebra appear to be a giant, flying lizard. Also, he spits fire.

HE SPITS FIRE!!!

This thing is a dragon! A fucking dragon! Some dragon that wandered into the caverns and turned into a horrific nightmare! Dragons are scary...not as bad as bronze colossus, but they're still really bad. I remember when that one dragon came to the capital...burnt an entire hallway full of dwarves...and my hair, but that's not as important.

Ebra lives down in the abyss, but I don't think he's going to opt to chase around that ocotpud with Yara. Mainly because he can fly. I'm not sure how to deal with this. I'll send the militra down to Goden's office and just hope for the best.

1st Slate, 1055, Mid-Spring

The military was to slow. Ebra flew into Goden's office, and evidently became aware of the approaching soldiers from above. It decided to wait for them, as it believed it would have the advantage. A brave soldier named Tulon was the first to arrive.

He had no notable skills, but despite this he did not fear Ebra. He charged forward, intent to slay the beast and protect Revredtour.

HIS BRAVERY WAS REWARDED BY HIS HEAD BEING TORN OFF!!!

Despite how horrifying this was to behold, the other soldiers who had arrived were not discouraged. They attacked Ebra, and actually began to overwhelm it.

The soldiers swarmed Ebra, hacking apart the beast's immense body from all sides. It tried to smother them all in a blanket of fire, but evidently the soldiers did so much damage to it that it could only let out a pathetic puff of smoke before collapsing. They were, of course, unharmed.

At this point Ebra was done for. More soldiers continued to arrive, and he could do nothing to resist their constant onslaught. It gave into pain, and was merely waiting for one of the soldiers to deliver the finishing blow.

Unsurprisingly, that soldier was Momuz.

That went better than I expected. I mean, it's a shame about Tulon getting brutally slaughtered, but I was worried we would lose many more soldiers.

6th Slate, 1055, Mid-Spring

So the mechanics and masons finally finished setting up our spider chamber, this time with nobody trapped inside it. The idea is pretty simple; the spider will spit webs at anything that comes near it, and if they happen to get to close they'll get caught in the cage traps. This should help with all the wild animals that keep wandering up into the staircase.

7th Slate, 1055, Mid-Spring

Solon has been acting weird lately. She keeps muttering things to herself, and she says she has a brilliant idea, but won't tell anyone a thing about it. Actually, now that I think about it, she could be experiencing a strange mood. At least it isn't of the nightmarishly creepy variety.

9th Slate, 1055, Mid-Spring

Houi passed away today. Sadly, I saw this coming. She'd been refusing both food and water for the past week, even from Rowan. There's was nothing we could do to get her to stop starving herself. I'm not sure what caused her to act so strange in the first place. Regardless of why she did this, she still deserves a proper burial.

17th Slate, 1055, Mid-Spring

Litast gave birth to her third child today. It's a healthy little girl!

With an odd name. Don't get where this trend of naming dwarves like this came from. I guess it caught on at some point and I'm just behind the curve.

21st Slate, 1055, Mid-Spring

Solon has started working on her project. Unsurprisingly, it's some kind of gem related work. We haven't gotten one of these yet, so I'm curious as to what she'll produce. Though nothing will ever top that incredible buckler.

25th Slate, 1055, Mid-Spring

Solon finished the artifact she was working on!

It's actually pretty nice. This is the kind of scepter you'd see Queen Betankubuk carrying around.

Course I'm not the kind of person to use one of these things. Neither is Goden, thankfully. Still, it's a fine scepter and it does a good job of showing off the wealth of Reveredtour. And better yet, it doesn't have any creepy images engraved on it!

Your artifact certianly beats mine. I just made a wooden ring....covered in donkey bone spikes! Go Rulecudgel!

Just you wait, one of those forgotten beasts is going to have a delayed-a-year-eyeball-exploding-syndrome.

I think that is the translation. "revered" and "tour" are both English words. Also on the first page it says "Prepare for the journey to Ebalsigun."

Yeah, the translation is Reveredtour. Since the game randomly generates name they're usually gibberish.

Which, of course, just adds to the hilarity. "Boatmurdered" wouldn't have been quite so funny had it not been called "Boatmurdered".

Hate to say it, but your dwarf sounds like the precursor to antisocial nerds that complain about everything.

Also this one was also requested;

I came across this thread, and whilst (not after) reading it I decided to comprehensively play Dwarf Fortress; while I did so, I also downloaded a tile pack; while I did that, I read Boatmurdered; and when I finished it was dawn. ^.^

I registered because bizarrely I found the name of your leader in Legends mode, when there was a wide variety of insane creatures, including this ridiculously powerful and hated cat-eating bear! I typed it from the interface, and it froze about when I was typing up the sentence to do with the coyote demon; I do not know if that part is correct, but it is an amazing thing to see such a story generated by chance.

You sort of shifted the character of Stithad a bit; wasn't she happy and flighty at the start. . ^^;

It's pretty good. Like Boatmurdered there are bits that are not so interesting, but the exploding graphite Forgotten was memorable. Make an engraving.

Liceyi Wavepolished was a black bear. He was the only one of his kind.

Zasit Actchannel

Wife of the moonfreak. One of the first of her kind.

In 1, Zasit married the dwarf Ustuth Sensedhammers.

In the early autumn of 2, Zasit made a journey to the depths of the world.

In the early autumn of 2, Zasit tamed the voracious cave crawlers of the depths of the world.

In early autumn of 2, Zasit returned to Bustclasp.

In the midautumn of 2, Zasit was abducted from Bustclasp by Momuz Burialtwilights.

In the late autumn of 2, Mumuz Burialtwilights changed Zasit from a dwarf to a wife of the moon freak.

I'm pretty sure there is something wrong with all that. I am a little new, but taming the voracious cave crawlers of the underworld and then being abducted and turned into a demon? Also according to Legends Rigoth Reigncrystal is the king of a huge dwarven empire.. :Z
