don't worry vallorn - if I were you, I'd be proud of my death having caused the LPer to go on a roaring rampage of revenge and slaughter the goblins responsible.
Pffff, at least the whole squad you were leading wasn't slaughtered because the armourers neglected to make metal armour for us! My boys, my poor poor boys. And myself of course. Now where's my ghost, I need to haunt something.vallorn said:nice that i get so much mourning after all ive been through. il definatly have to haunt Root and Irridum for letting me die like that! in DF, joining the military=death
especially in reveredtour
EDIT: actually, being sent to reveredtour is a death sentence in of itself.
if reveredtour survives up to 150, I'll be amazed. Although, I have a feeling the circus'll be involved before that happens...
EDIT 2: Kraken, I hate you right now for being so f*cking awesome.
Or both, have you seen Avuz? *shudder*Thecard said:Well, death or madness.
Well I didn't really accidentally fall asleep. It's more that a "quick nap" turned into a long one. Though I admit I do have sleep issues. Like right now I'm about 5:00 AM because I can never fall asleep when I want.Aidinthel said:If you're so tired that you can accidentally fall asleep then that sounds like a much more pressing issue than Dwarf Fortress.
This way, if he has two problems, he can send the better squad to try and handle the larger problem, and the second squad can get murdered by kobolds.Boaal said:Interesting.
Why have you divided your military up so much? Why not fill out the gaps in an existing squad, before creating a new one? This seem to create excessive micromanagement.
See, I do that too, but I usually focus on filling them out - there seem to be about four half-filled squad there. Surely it'd be a better practice to draft the fourth into the first, fill that out, let them train and go through battles, where the more experienced will help the recruits to survive by killing more/doing more damage (although given the size of those sieges, I wouldn't send my army out there either...). Those that survive gain experience and skill, those that die are unfortunate, but foreseeable casualties.Thecard said:This way, if he has two problems, he can send the better squad to try and handle the larger problem, and the second squad can get murdered by kobolds.Boaal said:Interesting.

The second squad can stay as it is, and remain on cave duty/backup/distraction (which is what I do, until I have a third squad specifically for cavern guard).
I just don't see why Kraken's now got four squads rather than three.
