Ah right, Louses dont have wings, thought they did, that would be bad, flying FBs are always problematic.
Louses may not have wings in real life but neither do scorpions. The "fun" thing about Forgotten Beasts is that they take our ideas about what is normal and stomps on them. So you get giant rats with wings that also breath fire out of their slimy trunks. Forgotten Beasts can be anything the want. They can even be a bee that doesn't have wings. Not sure how that one got created but it's lack of wings didn't stop it from killing half the fort.

and all of the goblins melt due to a syndrome.
Syndromes and invaders are weird. Supposedly they can infect them, I've seen cases of this happening, but other times invaders seem immune. An example being a forgotten beast that had deadly blood. The blood had a delayed effect that didn't kick in until a few years after it had died. This effect was cuasing your skin to melt off when you touched the blood. This blood had been spread across the entire fortress, includig a huge pool of it on the ruins of the outer wall. But a pack of kobolds marched right through the blood without a scratch. That pissed me off.
