I woke up at 4:50am this morning and it was -27, with humidity and wind chills it got over -40.
I don't think we've broke a record in my area but it's been a while since we've got a day that cold.
The air was so cold that breathing the cold air chills your lung.
And I couldn't believe my car fired up this morning. The steering wheel was stiff though.
Did you have trouble starting your car this morning ?cathou said:Snippity snap![]()
Just run up a Norwegiian flag, that should keep them out the garden and away from the bins. We do the same down here with Japanese flags during whale season... although there is a small chance Sea Shepherd will ram your backyard.Sleekit said:its so windy right now it sounds like there's a school of whales hiding in my back garden...
also they keep chapping the letterbox and have knocked over all the bins.
fucking whales.
I can vouch for that, but I'm not sure I want more exciting weather (if -30c is exciting). Just a touch of snow would be nice... no more than a few inches since it seems that we never have any idea how to function otherwise.Colour Scientist said:In Ireland, the weather fluctuates from mild to fierce mild.
Between 5 and 10 degrees, chances of rain, usual dreary January weather.
It's all very dull.
(checks OP's profile)cathou said:Alright, it's damn cold outside, and like a true canadian the only other subject of talk we have beside hockey is the weather.
Right now it's -30c outside (-22 for you fahrenheit users) and it's pretty windy, so we have a Wind chill factor of -42c (-43.6 f).
a week ago we had a +10c (50f). i like winter !
So what about you guys, how is the weather where you live in january ?
