I got to the meat circus in psychonauts last night... That damn kid keeps running after the stupid bunny and dying and I can't make the jumps in time. I just want it to end.

Not really a level per se but some of the event challenges from super smash bros melee. Those muthaf%$@#^s made me want to smash my gamecube and randoms in the street with a bat and my friend kicked a hole in his wall doing them. Not sure if that was cos we sucked back then or it is mind destroyingly hard but we certainly found it frustrating :p

there was this one level of San Andreas that completely infuriated me because it was impossible. it was the one where you return to Los Santos and have to take back this mansion or something. It was impossible and rediculous, and I'm not quite sure how I did it.
I remember that level, for a completely different reason.

When you chase the drug dealer from the mansion and shoot at him along the highway, I managed to (completely by fluke, BTW) graze the fuel cap with a short burst that took out him and his car, nearly killing myself in the process.

Otherwise, I really had little trouble on that mission, actually.

That Sly the racoon game, number 1, a button matching sequence (before they were 'the shit') and if you fail, you get to watch the cutscene again.

if i ever see another gaily dancing gypsy voodoo crocodile, i swear i'm wearing new croc-skin boots within a minute
Man, I kept redoing that level for fun.

ratatouille the game

my 8 year old sister got it for PS3, and then came to me in frustration saying it couldn't be done

flexing my manly pro-muscles of heterosexual greatness of manliness, i picked up the controller, scoffed at the children's classification, and prepared to unleash my honed and unstoppable gaming muscles on this pathetic attempt at a game.

i lost, its impossible, the timing requirements are undoable, the acing events un-winnable, the jumps excruciating, the balancing hair-trigger, the foes unstoppable, i tried for 3 hours and ended up quitting... ITS JUST NOT FREAKING FAIR!!!!

i go now to end my shameful existence... Katana style
You just made my morning.

The story mode (just on normal) and the Diamond Cup on hard of F Zero GX. You would think the story mode would be a semi-tutorial on how to play the game, but it is harder than the Grand Prix. I must have done that gang fight in the story mode close to a thousand times.

Mile High Club on veteran in Call of Duty 4. Holy hell taht sucked. Can't even remeber how many times I attemted that one. And then of course when I finally reach the point where you have to shoot the hijacker who's using a human shield I miss. Meaning that I had to do it all over again. I felt like impaling the tv screen.

Of course the elation I got when I finally 'sploded his head left me in fits of maniacle laughter. So there was that.

CoD4, No Fighting in the War Room on Veteran. Unbelievable.
Agreed, still trying to get past this part. I thought it couldn't get harder than the ferris wheel sniper part, but I was wrong.

Gears of War. General RAAM fight. Insane difficulty.

Six hours of my life I'm not getting back.

Maybe I just suck at the game, but I had little trouble until said boss fight, which was like running through walls made out of paper, then hitting steel full force. Over and over, and over, and freakin' over!

I've not touched the game since.

Chromehounds. Final Scout mission. You have to take on that guy in the black HOUND. He never misses your cockpit. Ever. He's faster than you, he's got much better armour and weapons then you. And you have to kill him. (I think, correct me if I'm wrong)

Again, I've not touched the game. Good riddance BTW, don't know why I bought that piece of crap in the first place.

There's this level on DMC4 where the whole thing involves, slowing down time and jumping or avoiding lazers. Just so you know I suck when it comes to A) timing and B) measuring distance while jumping. I spent the whole time cursing at the top of my voice and then I had to do it again as Dante. So that level pretty much pissed me off.

That bit in Shenmue II where you have to catch a tiny leaf between your fingers three times in a row. Bollocks to that.

Try any level of the Megaman ZX games.
The developers thought that the old egaman games were apparently too easy, so they added some additional bullshittery like a shitload of bottomless pits, tight corridoors with spikes everywhere (you touch one, you die), respawning enemies if you out-screen them and then come back, no savegames during mid-level (which means you die more than 3 times, it's back to the beginning of the level for you)

Its stupid difficult, and this game was made in 2008!

Oh, also the boss energy bar is 6 times larger than your is...

I have to say here, Ares in God of War on the hardest mode.
Not for difficulty, but because while doing the VERY. LAST. STUPID. BUTTONMASHING QUICKTIME EVENT...
The game froze. Meaning I'd have to fight him, the million-kratos-clone and then him with the useless sword. AGAIN.
I felt like puking, swear to god.
Best part? This happened TWICE! TWICE FOR GOD'S SAKE!

Sidenote: I never finished Battletoads. Not the infamous racing level, no. Just...something with a rat and a buzzsaw, on rails. It seemed, quite literally, unwinnable.

If you have ever played I Wanna be the Guy, you would want to destroy your computer after maybe the first three maps. You really need patience to play that game (it's awesome).

I still remember the Sandopolis Zone, Act 2, in Sonic & Knuckles. I almost didn't finish the game because of that mess.

Oh yes, and Tengu Mountain, in Legend of the Mystical Ninja, the town stage was one of the most excruciating experiences in the history of gaming. Of course, that entire game was nearly impossible (but fun)...

SSE Maze in Brawl, I'm actually taking a break from it right now just so i WON'T break the game disk! it's a retread of all the previous levels and half the game. It's also anti-climatic in that it directs you to think you're about to enter the showdown against Taboo, but it just drags on and on! You may keep thinking each door will lead you to Taboo and a bit of variety but it still drags on with some of the worst repetition I have seen in a long time.

I found the Water Temple pretty easy, once you got the hang of the water levels.

Now, STALKER... I've beaten Halo on Legendary, I'm damn good at both versions of CS, I got 'Neighborhood Watch' in HL2:E2 with a little effort, but it took me SEVEN tries to get past the first gunfight. SEVEN.
