Bwah ha ha ha! That's priceless - a man claims that he is "unable to function independently in usual daily activities such as getting up, getting dressed, bathing or communicating with family and friends.", and yet he's perfectly capable of retaining legal counsel and filing lawsuits. What's wrong with this picture?

News flash to stupid people: MMOs are not a dangerous substance being distributed without proper warning labels - if you ruin your life playing them, the problem is you.

I mourn for humanity.

Seriously though, he's sueing because he played a video game for too long? If this seriously makes it to court I'm going to both laugh and cry. Are people this pathetic?

Soon, similarly to cigarettes all MMOs will have to have a big sign every time you start a game saying "Department of Health warrning: Extensive playing may lead to addiction, loss of weight, sight, social life, and pet" to avoid such lawsuits.

WTH is lineage II? Never heard of it. I expect this sort of thing with WoW
It was around long before WoW.

...what?

No, the game is not responsible for you not being able to "get up and get dressed" on your own. Thats your own fault for being such a lazy bastard.

"activity's such as getting up"

What? Did he have a monitor hanging over his bed? I fail to see how he's going to blame the game on his not being able to get out from under the sheets.

You can sue people for your own despicable lack of self-control now? I predict a sudden surge in admissions of moral degeneracy.

Absolutely preposterous, ridiculous, frivolous, querulous, and also dumb. It's possible to enjoy MMOs without ruining one's life. This guy is just a lazy dipstick playing the lawsuit lottery. If you fling enough shit at a wall, some of it it bound to stick.

On the other hand, it's against NCsoft. Maybe the judge can order them to stop making horrible games.

Sigh.

Companies usually tell you not to do something with their product once they get sued, because some idiot did something with it and then wants revenge because "they didn't tell him not to."

It's called common sense. Friskies Cat Food didn't tell you not to slide the edge of the can against your eye, but why would you do it in the first place?

The sad truth is, this guy will probably win. Companies will then be forced to slap disclaimers everywhere, warning of the dangers of becoming a total loser, engrossed in a game that you're too pathetic to pull yourself from playing a game.

Remember the moronic lady that spilled hot McDonalds coffee on herself and sued because there wasn't a warning label? I'm McDonalds does.

Why doesn't he just sue his parents for giving birth to him. It's obviously their fault that he is addicted to Lineage 2, and if they hadn't brought him into this world he could never have become addicted. Honestly, how did his parents not see all of this coming in the future? It's all their fault.

It amazes me what people will sue others over, my favorite being the women who spilled coffee on her lap, and sued because it was cold.

Im gonna sue the people who make this wall next to me because I felt compelled to bash my head against it over and over until it critically injured my skull. Its their fault because they made it too sturdy and hard.
The point I am trying to get across here is that you cant sue somebody for your own stupidity.
