They then shouldn't probably have let all these people go as they did some time ago.

The title made me LOL.

So Lucas...we will have Battlefront 3 (as stated above) the Clone wars to be axed, and no rumours of EP 7, 8 and 9? Seriously, just say if you are doing them or not! Instead of leaving us hanging.

Other than them 3 things, i ain't bothered what they do, i find the Force Unleashed good (Excellent game to relieve stress on) and i'm liking the progress on ToR, not really bothered with Kotor 3.

EDIT: Unreal 3 engine? Republic Commando 2...

Now.

I never really understood why the Lucas companies never expanded on the Star Wars universe! I mean they have a good 5000 (Five Thousand!) year period to play with and they have only covered the very beginning (The Sith) and the very end (The downfall of the Republic).

They could create beautiful original characters to play with. Wonderful story lines to tell the other sides of Star Wars universe.

Honestly they could create a Star Wars Sim City and it would be freaking awesome to play.

We've been watching the Epic of Luke Skywalker for the last 30+ years, its time for a new face on the franchise.

Meegan didn't say what kind of genres it would put these upcoming games in, but one of them better be an X-Wing or Tie Fighter [http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-X-Wing-Collector-Pc/dp/B00002SV6D/ref=sr_1_15?ie=UTF8&qid=1307034644&sr=8-15] flight-sim reboot. Seriously, how long have we been waiting for one of those?
FOREVER?

I don't know how well the U3 engine would lend itself to a space dogfighting sim, but I'll stand in line for this reboot. Bring it on!

Give them a chance people. They made (or were involved in making) some great games in the past, what's to say they can't do so again?

Look at EA. For a time they realised such tripe and had some of the worst policies for development, were hit hard by accusations of poor working conditions and we're knocked off the top spot by about every other up and coming label.

Then they released Dead Space, Bad Company, Mirrors Edge and a host of other games. Yes some of them didn't quite get it right, but it showed a change for EA. They are releasing some pretty damn good games annually now and are no longer considered the worst in the industry (activision seems to be the new EA and are due a crash).

All it takes is one good Star Wars/Indiana/Original title to turn around peoples expectations of Lucasarts (and boost their morale). As long as the company doesn't sink, it's inevitable.

In other news: Pigs have learned to fly and skate their way through the hell that has frozen over.

I don't see this happening any time soon.

I'd like to see Battlefront 3.

A remake of the Jedi Knight(or just a sequel) games would be pretty awesome to see as well, I might have to go dig up those CDs and play those again sometime.

so you will make battlefront 3, a new x-wing vs tie fighter that includes almost every fighter ever to appear in official star wars media(so i can shoot down choral skippers in a clawcraft) and KOTOR3, each as good as the original and ship them to everyone who ever bought a star wars game for free?

edit: i totally forgot the new jedi knight you will make

One way you could quit disappointing me would be to stop milking Star Wars all the bloody time. That cow is dead and has been for several years now, stop trying to squeeze milk out of it.

Far too long.
In fact, I haven't needed a flight stick at all since XvsTie.
I don't know if a game like that would make a lot of money now. I have a feeling that most console gamers would find it too complicated and tedious.
I can see Yhatzee cracking on how it's a star wars game that would appeal to "lobster accountants."

That headline, edit out the word "Arts", then I shall be truly happy.

But in seriousness, this is indeed good news

Personally I think they should just take a break from making Star Wars based games for a while, and either think up a brand new IP or look back into their old catalog for inspiration. Oh, I'm not saying that in expectation of another Monkey Island* or (dare I hope) Maniac Mansion game as the guys behind those have long since left, I'm saying it for them to try something that will leave them unrestrained and be free to be fucking creative to do what they want.

As it is seeing a SW title in store gives me the sense that a) it's a crap game (unfair yes, but I'm speaking of reputation) and that b) there's a current influx of SW Fans and Lorekeepers writing on how wrong so and so aspect of said game is. Oh, that last part is true of any title nowadays (Bioware, Blizzard, & Bethesda probably have their share), but this is the sacred cow that is Star Wars, which all but demands perfection.

[* Am aware of new Monkey Island games being released, only mentioned in the above to reference the Golden Era of Lucasarts Game development.]

I want a new Podracer game, like Episode 1: Racer [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Wars_Episode_I:_Racer] on the PC because that was awesome!

And maybe a new Bounty Hunter game, as I loved the Jango Fett one. Maybe with Boba?

Why is everyone saying that more Star Wars games is a bad thing? The brand doesn't make a bad game good, but neither does it make a good game bad...and if you have that property, you might as well use it. There's a lot in that particular universe, and it's big enough to allow for practically anything science-fictiony.
