The first step to making a good piece of entertainment is understanding why you can't make a good piece of entertainment.

Get back to me when you finally figure out why that is, George Lucas.

Hint: It has to do with a lack of screenwriting talent and an overabundance of funding.

Battlefront 3 or a new x-wing or tie fighter would probably get the desired result

I believe the first Force Unleashed for the Wii started with the idea of using motion controls that made the player feel like he/she was a jedi/sith. It was a great idea, and I believe if you were to merely look at the game for just its controls and gamplay, it's a great game. What ruined it was the story, from the characters to the plot. The Wii version did also have bad graphics; you can play it on the XBox 360 or the PS3, but then you're really trading in motion control for graphics. It's your call, but I think the motion control gameplay is what made it a game.

And that's why The Force Unleashed 2 was such a bad and disappointing. Naturally making a sequel from a bad story will naturally produce a worse story. Graphics really didn't improve. Now with the first one, you could defend it with the motion control gameplay. But when they took that away, there was nothing left.

And so now we await Star Wars Kinect, which once again promises to make us feel like a jedi using Kinect. I think it's a great idea. But if they produce another crappy story, it can ruin the idea.

I still don't get it.

I enjoyed the prequels much more than the originals, I really liked the force unleashed. I also really liked the 4th indania Jones film (though I have a thing for mesoamercian stuff, and I find the ancient astronaut theory actually rather convincing, despite what the film made it out to be; a la "ALIENS BUILT THE PYRAMIDS" etc.
And you absolutely have the right to enjoy those movies, whether or not someone like me would disagree with you. The OT is about LucasArts who make games, not Lucas Films who make the movies and tv shows. The problem with Force Unleashed II was how disappointing the story was, and how the gameplay didn't seem to improve upon its predecessor. I also enjoyed The Force Unleashed, I just thought it needed to be longer so that the end story wouldn't be so rushed

Star Wars is an IP with immense potential. It's a great fusion of Fantasy and Sci-Fi in an epic and varried setting. However, Lucas seems to be stuck in the Original Trilogy/Clone Wars period and it's getting old. They should try doing some of the post-Vader Epanded Universe periods, there's some pretty cool stuff there. Old Republic setting is also pretty sweet, as was proven by KotOR. I just wish they'd stop trying to shoehorn events into already established periods. The whole "Starkiller starts the Rebellion" plot was just terribly contrived. Also, it's becoming absurd how many Jedi survive the "extermination" to serve as fodder in the assorted games and comics...

Then let's see modern versions of Jedi Outcast and the Super Star Wars/Shadows of The Empire multiplatform games! It's been long enough.

I have a suggestion for Lucasarts: Stop treating the Star Wars franchise as a license to print money. The fanbase is way too jaded with you pumping out half-assed games with bad controls, limited replay value that take all of 4 hours to beat.
You should expand this into an open letter to the industry.

If they want to impress, they better bring back that Indiana Jones game from a few years ago. It was supposed to be on the 360 and PS3 but then they butchered it and put it on the PS2 and Wii.

So they're making Battlefront 3, Jedi Knight 4, Repubic Commando 2, Kotor 3, etc (the list is too long to go on)?

so heres a thought, stop milking the star wars franchise for a while. i love star wars as much as the next non-trekkie nerd, but does anyone remember when lucas arts had original ideas? despite the clunky combat sequences, full throttle is still one of my favorite point and click adventure games. there is not a single star wars game that is my favorite anything

BF3 or I'm ignoring this announcement. Besides, George Lucas will never be able to please Star Wars fans now. They have too much rage.

HOLY CRAP YES!

Hey if we are doing this, bring Rouge Squadron to the 360/PS3!
Why do the good Starwars games get left in obscurity?!! Come on, these games would make it up to me at least.

Make Battlefront 3. I'm pretty sure it would conquer both Battlefield 3 and Modern Warfare 3, if it was released in time.

Also, make an RPG where you're a jedi. Have it span all 6 films (Kind of). You start off as a padawan in the time of Episode 1, and by the time the Clone Wars kicks off you're a Jedi Knight, leading battles and winning conflicts all across the universe. By the time Order 66 kicks in, you've progressed to Master, and with the Republic having fallen, your only option is to go into hiding.

From there you join the Rebel Alliance proper, fighting on many battles until, between Episodes 5 and 6, you are hunted down by Darth Vader himself, the 501st with him. After an epic battle, taking many of the Clone forces' elite down with you, you die at the hands of the Sith Lord, and one of the last few remaining pre-66 Jedi is lost.

Oh, yeah, and make another Republic Commando. I've heard so many great things about it, but haven't had the opportunities to play it as the only console I have for it, my PC, is utter shite and struggles to play Minecraft.

we got a new Nintendo console, Batman Arkham City, more 3DS stuff, Aliens Colonial Marines, and Microsoft slowly turning into Wii-Music-E3 Nintendo (ie. peddling their stupid shit that no one cares about).
bring us Battlefront III and I will officially declare this the best E3 evar.
...
*waves hand*
you WILL release Star Wars Battlefront III...

Yes we do need a new Battlefront and a new Republic Commando game because they have been milking the jedi cow full force now and I am sick and tired of it.

Why Lord? Why do I laugh every time I see the headline? Am I so cynical towards G. Lucas that I can't help but ridicule anything positive news from his companies?
