I would have required to be at least shown a gun. Getting robbed under the assumption that someone somewhere MIGHT have a gun isn't something I'd like to remember...

How do we know there was not in fact a guy outside with a gun?
If there was, he'd come inside, point the gun and demand the games.

Meh, it was GameStop. They probably asked for it.
You're going to give me HOW MUCH for Batman Arkham Asylum?! ...You see that guy outside with his hand in his pocket?

Does anyone think that this might be another of Infinity Ward's, "Any advertising is good advertising?" I sure do, I mean, just how are you going to get out of the shop with that many copies?

The GameStop employees probably did the smart thing by erring on the side of caution, but come on. You're really just going to let a guy rob you because he says his friend outside has a gun? Really?
The last time I worked retail I was making $13AU an hour, got treated like crap by my boss and the customers, so if someone ever walked into the store and even hinted he was going to rob me my first reaction would of been "do you want the keys to the stock room and the register?"

I'm not dying for someone else's freaking MONEY and I applaud the guys working that store for just handing it over, to the idiotic uninformed it may seem like cowardice, but really you're not a hero if you dying for some other dudes cash, you're a moron.

They are going to need a whole new generation of copy-protection to fend this type of pirate.
/thread (also lol)

For some reason I imagine the final countdown playing as he made the 100 copies of the game levitate out before him. Seriously, how did he carry them all?
There is this state of the art device called a box. I know I know we talking hi-tech here.
Because most hiests are commited by felons carting around a box, practical and tough. More likely than not he just had them put in bags, but I'm not here to consider real options when arrested development style magic tricks are an option.
I know this is rocket science but most game releases ship in box shippers. Typically between 50-100 units per box. I don't know one game stop that puts their games away on release day, they keep them in the box behind the counter. Obviously the guy grabbed the shipper and bolted out the door. Who the fuck brings a bag to gamestop? He isn't robbing a bank...

See, if the man in the store had a weapon, this wouldn't have happened...

That was actually pretty stupid on all parts. Why would you believe that there is a guy outside that would shoot them? Why would you steal 100 copies with your hands?

That's so amazing of an idea. We need more people like him, people who can get shit done like that.
Oh, we have plenty of people like him. They work for Military Intelligence.

And they're reading this right now.

I really hope he took loads of the display cases, so he got 100 MW2 boxes, with no discs in.

But he probably didn't.

One time when I was outside in the middle of the night two guys suddenly came up and pushed me to the street. I have martial arts training and they clearly didn't, but unfortunately I was wearing skates, which pretty much means that you can't throw punches or kicks. Worse, I had 400 euros in my wallet. Yeah awful preparation on my part, eh?

The leader of the two had pretty big hands and he made a fist and demanded that I give him all my money and if I didn't he would get out his knife. I made a quick calculation:
1. He's lazy, otherwise he'd work for his money
2. If he really had a knife, wouldn't it be easier to threaten me with it?

I took the risk of calling his bluff and told him that I didn't have any money.

Then he told me any amount would be fine, even 5 euros or less.

Another calculation:
3. He isn't going to kill for 5 euros

I told him I didn't have any money, this time pretending to be scared.

He told me to stop shouting.

I started shouting harder.

They left me alone.

In the gamestop case: I would have asked the guy who exactly has the gun and then judge from his reaction.

I guess my most likely cause of death would be calling a bluff when something isn't.
