So... instead of going out, finding a real woman or a real man, and having real sex... you fuck a console instead. Sounds... riviting....I'm sure.
I think I'll stick to the real thing or nothing at all thanks. The massive lack of pride one would have to have in order to actually buy one these things is... astounding.

Wait one minute... what happened to people going out and getting a girlfriend or boyfriend?
Now people want to simulate sex on these things? jeeeeezzeeeee
And, i'm guessing Hentai games are a must on it...
personally i'm a little bewildered and think this is daft.
Besides, who is going to go into a game store and buy one? You'd never be able to set foot in town again. Guess anyone proud enough to own one will be ordering it over the internet.

Well at least this will prove that games can do whatever films do, whatever the genre...

I could imagine this on the shelves of an 'Adult' store, but I seriously doubt they'll be selling them in your local EB. It's just another sex toy, right?
A similar statement was made at the inception of gaming consoles - "it's just a toy." Look at where things are now. It's exactly the reason why they should make the SexBox available at EB, but we all know US puritanism will keep this off most shelves.

There's a much bigger picture here - the SexBox isn't just a porn machine, but a way for developers to release games designed for an adult market. It has the potential to have interesting and meaningful gaming experiences that would otherwise be swept under the morality rug of Wal*Mart. I would certainly hope for a GTA-like title of uncompromising sexuality AND violence to be available as an exclusive. Granted, the fact that it's being included in the porn market does make this a novelty item, but I've heard of worse ideas.

It's not how much effort it takes to find the same content for free, it's all about the "unique user controls" designed specifically for AO content...

This is going to be covered in lawsuits. Between Microsoft's history with the "Mike Rowe Soft" debacle and the nature of making porn in a medium that some assholes insist is exclusively for children, this is unlikely to end well.

I would pay what ever I pay for my internet connection minus £3 every month.

:p That way I get my porn cheaper! And It keeps my hands busy! No, wait, internet does that too.

That's a fair point, although I would debate whether or not anyone's going to develop 'meaningful gaming experiences' for it. That's the trouble - it has potential, I agree, but I really do think it's going to end up in the niche market. I'll happily eat my words if I'm wrong, but I honestly can't see it realistically breaking free of the porn industry. Which doesn't make it a bad console, it just means I doubt we'll be seeing it joining the mainstream console wars or decorating the shelves at EB any time soon. They'd have to build a special room with a swing door into every store, anyway =P

To be honest, the porn business is doing quite well at the minute, if they want to fund this kind of thing, let them. It lets people like me, who study sex, find more things to read about, talk about and experiment with. I can see how there would be a moral outrage, but then again, who cares?

I can't believe they're actually making a console like this.

Me and my mates would always refer to Xbox as "Sexbox" for a joke...(along with GamePube and WetDreamcast)

I can't think of who would actually buy a console like this though...

I for one am deeply offended that anyone would even conceive of such an immoral piece of technology and I have absolutely NO intentions at all whatsoever to purchase one!

Now, if you'll just tell me when and where this abomination will be available, how much it retails for and if they take PayPal, I will be sure to take every necessary precaution to avoid it at all costs!

Looks like Yahtzee is going to be reviewing a force feedback cod-piece sooner than he thought.
