Mass Effect 2 Box Art Fails to Impress

I guess so. I took the comment at face value, and as a fan of the game, I was fairly taken aback.

If you're being entirely serious, you've never heard of mass effect. It's nothing like Halo, or really any other game for that matter. And that box art looks incredibly....terrible.

Yeah, it's pretty bad. The game is just as good as the original, if not better, I'm sure, but the box art is definitely off-putting.

Aww man. The box art for ME1 was pretty good, but this one just looks even worse than the old ME2 box art.

As the author stated, it looks incredibly generic. I liked the feel the ME1's art showed - it looked more 'move-like' and all.

This...if I didn't know about Mass Effect, my first thoughts would be "yet another shooter".

I'm not sure what they're doing but I hope they change it again. It just looks too mediocre.

Note: To those who say box art doesn't matter; that's correct, but it's still important in terms of marketing. I may not judge a game by its cover, but it doesn't hurt to make it look appealing. First impressions are fairly important for everyone.

Hehe exactly. It's meant to put the customer in so much shame that instead of walking around with the regular box he/she shells out for the special edition.

Anyways meh...the first box art they showed for ME2 was even worse in my opinion. Not that this is much of an upgrade, but at least this is a little better...
