Mass Effect 2 Box Art Fails to Impress

I agree, I don't much care for that box art, but I suppose I could live with it. It's not like I'm buying the game for the box art.
Still, they ARE apparently hiring a professional artist to capture the essence of Mass Effect and I think they should demand better with their money.
I think the hairdo of the lady in the backround is what gives it the 50sesque B-movie vibe as much as anything. Really that hairdo seems out of place.

I'm thinking they should go with the "Evil scarred Shepard looking in the mirror". That's one hell of a picture.

Note to Design crew: make every box the collector's edition artwork, and make the rain (water, whatever?) shiny. Like, hologram shiny. You'll catch the eye AND it won't look this awful.
If you really need to, put 3 of the characters in a mini-form at the bottom.
Seriously, this is even worse than Orange Box's art.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure the girl on that cover is Kelly Clarkson*.
[small]* Before I get flamed by a million people at once telling me how wrong I am - I haven't seen her in a picture or video for about five years, so I have no idea if she still looks anything like what I remember, or indeed if she ever looked anything like I remember. Ugh, I hate it when this happens, it's almost not worth making the point in the first place when the disclaimer to prevent myself getting flamed is five times longer than the actual point I'm making.[/small]

I guess I'm alone in feeling that a bland and somewhat boring box art is somehow fitting for the sequel to a bland and somewhat boring game.
That said, given the profile and over the top hype for ME2 one would have thought that they would put some effort into it. I guess not.
