I'd try not to be rude about it, but what the heck am I gonna do with flowers? Set 'em on fire and smoke 'em like a cigar? Use them to mop up spills?

Not very romantic I know, but neither are flowers when you get right down to it. "I got you something beautiful that'll die in like, a week. It represents OUR LOVE." Unless my girlfriend saw it differently, I don't think I'd use flowers much. Maybe once or twice, as a surprise.

Well I'm difficult to buy things for, it's either games[footnote]and I'm picky about them, and then of course there's the fact that I don't really see games as a 'romantic' gift (unless my girlfriend ends up being a gamer too)[/footnote] or decorative/consumable things (like flowers and chocolates and artwork).

I'll help you out since I started this. I'd say practicality,necessity, and entertainment work wonders. Things you just kinda look at, don't swing it for guys (unless you bought me some cool collectible thing.)

I'd say something useful, that will last a while. (most)Guys don't like gifts that die in a week or do nothing but look pretty.
