I don't think so. You seemed to be saying the fact that the YouTuber found the compass useful as a sign that gamers were getting dumber, but complained about Robocop: Rogue City not giving you enough of a clue that that wall was a breakaway. So, you think games guiding you is a sign that gamers are getting dumber, but also want games to guide you more.
No, you didn't get it. The point I made with RoboCop is that modern games are too cluttered with visual noise and just placing the objective on the map cheats the player. When I play Zelda, the next puzzle that I'm supposed to interact with in the dungeon or the next chamber is not highlighted on the map. What's even the point of making it so photorealistic, of putting so many insanely detailed objects in the world, if when you look at anything closely it doesn't hold up, like a forklift with useless forks that they bought on the Epic asset store (to keep costs down)?

Don't really want to get dragged into a debate about an entirely different game where neither of us is going to change our mind (especially because unlike you, I was able to determine the wall was a breakaway fairly easily due to an enemy being on the other side, as indicated by the radar). I just want to say that if that was your point, that the game world was too cluttered, you did a terrible job of getting that across, because your immediate complaint was not being able to figure out that the wall was a breakaway, and saying that it was because you weren't given enough of an indicator, and it took me re-reading the post after you said what the point of your complaint was to even notice you off-handedly mentioning that there was debris everywhere instead of just concentrated in front of the breakaway like you thought it should have been.

Agree, could have explained it better.

Don't really want to get dragged into a debate about an entirely different game
Then I suggest not quoting different topics as an attempt at a "Got you!"

That's fair enough. I have a thing with hypocrisy that often overtakes my more rational brain.

Literally unpleasable.
That's his entire gimmick, and all he ever does.

At 7:16, even the Gamespot reviewer recognizes the issues with the magnetic cover system. More problematic than in 5 because the environments are denser.

MGS4 required the action button to enter cover. MGS1 to 3 just made you press against the wall. Although similar, it felt better than the auto-cover of MGS5 because it wasn't so sticky or magnetic.

IGN crouched through almost their whole review. This is how I expect most players to move the majority of the time. I wish there was a demo so that I could test if moving normally without being seen or heard is harder than before because of this low crouch walk that I dislike so much.

It's one thing never to show the classic cinematic camera in your review because you prefer the overpowering modern camera (that makes the game visually blander) and know most of your viewers will use the modern camera, but to not even show the legacy options by pressing RB at 3:36 or check out the Game options which presumably have more legacy options annoys me.

Holy crap, GameInformer's review is bad. In only a five minute review, which is not enough time to adequately review any big game, they only start talking in specifics at 2 minutes 20 seconds.

"Quick-changing camo with shortcut keys is also a godsend and finally fixes an element of the game that always annoyed me."

You don't need to be changing camouflage that often anyway. Can wear the same for several areas. If you're always trying to maximize the percentage based on what surface you are attached to, you are obsessive. I skimmed through some of my last playthrough to verify, very easy to check because it's always written on the HUD, and found that I really did keep it to a minimum. Splitter is fine for all the man-made environments, choco and desert for the entire mountain, tiger stripe and woodland for the forested areas. You definitely shouldn't feel the need to be changing often enough to need a quick-menu like in this remake. That it's there is fine, I guess.

Edit: Finished the review. Really shallow.

IGN and GI Ireally don't care about, but both of their reviews are not indicative of the overall game's quality. Though GIs i didn't find bad. Though I wouldn't be shocked if none of these reviews satisfied you, if they were fifteen to thirty minutes or an hour long. You're never happy with anything. So i'm not shocked. Sucks to you.

As I thought, the new additions in the old small maps make an already easy sneaking game easier.

"So if you typically play these games on Normal, I'd recommend upping the difficulty with the modern camera to restore some of that challenge."

And if you were already playing it on Extreme?

I don't see that as much of a negative. Just play on a harder difficulty and be done with it. So quit your freaking whining, and get over yourself. You pretty much admitted you're not even going to play the game anyway. So you really have nothing to cry about. Be happy legacy mode even exists.

I'm generally not very good at stealth games, to a degree that I find it difficult to really enjoy them. The first two Metal Gear Solid games I could handle because of the Soliton Radar's assistance, and 3 removing that made things harder for me than I could handle back when I played the HD Collection. I doubt I'll end up playing this version either. Still, it's good to see Konami didn't screw it up completely. It's probably too early to say they're going through a Capcom redemption arc, but at least we've got SH2R and this.

That's it. I don't really have anything else to say about a game I haven't played and don't exactly intend to.

Quoting because I love the response. First time I found someone who remembers that trailer as fondly as me.

The world seemed much bigger in the very first trailer of the original game, when I viewed it before ever playing a Metal Gear game.

Yeah, open worlds mostly suck ass, but they had to expand the individual maps for this remake to not be completely worthless.
The trailer, one of the best of all time imo, made the game look not only bigger but more cooler and more exciting than it actually was. Technically you could actually do some of the things it shows in the game, but there was no cause to and/or you had to go out of your way to make things happen. The game we got was still good, but still.

I am always happy to see Easy Allies impressions/review of Metal Gear games.
