This is absolutely fantastic news.

A big thanks to everyone helping to make the game possible!

Edit: Don't take the "compete with CoD" thing to be bad. All it means is that the amount of polish Metro 2034 receives will rival that of the CoD games. That's a very good thing.

My first thought when I read the headline was "then maybe Logan won't whine so fucking much when/if he plays 2034 as he did while playing 2033", lmao. Yeah, I will die before I forget that abomination of a review.
I get that you feel strongly about the review, but bringing it up nearly a year after it was written is bordering on the obsessive. If I were you, I'd have a think who you're actually making look bad with these kinds of comments.
I wouldn't say that I still know that quite well. It stood out so much from every other review on the website that I can't NOT remember that review. What do you remember more normal work, or a weird event that is considered a freak event. Such as someone bringing a flare gun to a nerf gun fight.

I think you may have missed my point. Looking back over the comments, you didn't agree with the review either, but you're not tripping over yourself to insult me about it. I'm not saying that remembering the review after nearly a year is obsessive - if it is then I'm obsessive too, because I remember it very well - but saying things like "Yeah, I will die before I forget that abomination of a review," is a different matter altogether.

I'm still waiting on a English Translation of the Metro 2034 book, I played the game and found the story really good then I read the book and found the book better than the game story wise. They changed a few things but it didn't butcher the book in the process. So I hope the Metro 2034 book gets translated soon or in time for the release of the game.

The metro 2034 is based on Hunter, the guy that supposedly died in the first book.

I loved 2033 - my only gripe was the weak AI and lack of multiplayer. Actually, my biggest gripe was just how linear the game was . . . I was really hoping for a little more ability to roam and travel back and forth between the stations - but I think 4A were trying to avoid having their title compared to GSC's at all costs.

Either way, I thought it was a solid release as is. I really don't think they need to "polish" the game to make it more marketable to a larger audience . . . instead, THQ simply needed to actually market the game more (they did a horrible job of marketing with 2033 - although it sold very respectfully). Tweak the AI, add a solid form of multiplayer, and oepn up the game world a bit more for exploration - keep everything else as-is!

I am very excited, I loved Metro 2033, apart from a few polish issues, I thought it was a true gem, although I was a little disappointed that it was not an open world game like S.T.A.L.K.E.R, I was enchanted by the story and atmosphere. Here is hoping for an even more awesome sequel (that hopefully will be open world; seriously, an open world game with Metro 2033's setting would be unbelievably awesome. Three words, Upgradeable Train cars).

Metro 2033 was my favorite shooter of 2010, hands down, so I don't doubt that the sequel will only get better.

These people are from Ukraine, and they don't have all the fantastic support that an American company can get, so they need to release something great to get attention.

I think by making it more like call of duty theyre going to tweak the shooting mechanics to make it more accessible, it took me half an hour to adjust myself to the looseness and lack of autotargeting, i really hope 4a focuses more on the subway scenes and that feeling of loneliness and vulnerability u get when ur alone in the metro.

What?? They want to be like CoD???

Damnit, I was excited for the game... If it's gonna be another CoD copy, than I want nothing to do with it...

I feel as if I was the only person who hated 2033. It was boring, the voice acting was terrible, and the gameplay was stupid.

let's hope they fix everything.

If it does have CoD shooting mechanics, then I'll waste less bullets on the fucking LIBRARIANS! But then that was what made it intense on the PC, losing bullets and fumbling around all survival horror like.

I killed...every...one...of...those...bastards...because I couldn't sneak around them, they just kept walking towards me.

So there went all of my shotgun and AK ammo, and most of my revolver ammo.

Scary/Good memories

Props for not saying that they're planning on being more like CoD in order to compete with it. Too many times I've heard that and ended up with an average shooter (which might be saying something about CoD, though...) that had nothing in the way of "competition." You can't become the leader by being the follower, after all. I'm interested in how this will turn out, though a bit skeptical.

I loved/hated the Librarians, ironically, my favorite part of the whole game. I think that part made me truly scared, as I had very little ammo and very little oxygen, wich forced me to get going if I didn't want to die by asphyxia, but I also didn't wanted to die by those nasty things. The only thing that ruined the immersion of that part was the whole thing of "don't look them at the eyes", I did that and sometimes they turned their back at me and left, but sometimes they just went all aggro and started to chomp my face.

OT: I don't know how to react by this comment. I mean, Metro 2033 was simply awesome, despite it's flaws, but certainly better than your average FPS, or your average COD. I mean, COD, right now, isn't certainly known for being a quality or polished game, something Activision's vocabulary lacks.

If by that they mean they will refine the shooting mechanincs a bit and make the game less buggy, then I'm all for it.
