Yes, they were. They were awful in fact. And yet the movie still made its entire production budget back in five days.

Good point. $200 million in 5 days is huge, for any movie. Kinda wish I had a logical train of thought that explained why, but all I can think of is expectations from the first movie and the awe-inspiring powers of giant explosions.

Even at the moment, I could rip a frame out of Transformers, and 'shop it into Dark of the Moon. That nets me $25,000 and anyone else who watches it, equally bankrupting Bay.

A special note to White people, Asians, Hispanics, flying purple people eaters, politicians, and business leaders:
No body cares if you call people Black. At least I really don't care and 99.997% of everyone I know doesn't care. If everyone started using "African American" it wouldn't make sense and we would use up all the oxygen on the planet and die. I don't call, nor do I ever INTEND on EVER calling a white person "Caucasian European" or "European American". I just don't think that we should be enforcing this crap just for the sake of enforcing it.
In my humble opinion, and not trying to incur the wrath of moderators and yet still get my point across, If I were Michael Bay not only would I give the "African American robots from space" (Because Africa is in space) a starring role but I would have them get KFC logos tattooed on their faces on top of big red lips and every time they get close to a "Popeye's Chicken and Biscuits" they should put on gigantic bib overalls, rip off the roof and demand all the corn bread and fried chicken before they popped caps in everyone's asses.
Why?
Because they are DAMN ROBOTS FROM SPACE (meaning NOT AFRICA, NOT DETROIT, or New York, Or L.A, or Georgia, or Chicago, or Milwaukee (my home town)). And people see this stuff and freak out because they themselves perceive how black people SHOULD act. Making them just as "racist" as Michael Bay.

Its essentially just as racist as you want to believe it to be.
People need to stop being so sensitive.
The movie is shitty enough as it is.

I brought it up before in this thread. I work with kids. They see race.

I've handed out consequences to kids for making fun of African American students for having "Jar-Jar lips." Calling Asian students "Jackie Chan." I settled multiple conflicts and gave long stern talks because a pupil wanted to play a character that belonged outside his ethnic background but his friends said things along the line of "You can't be Optimus/Bumblebee/Wolverine/Superman/Batman, because you're black. You should be Jazz/Skids/Mudflap/Spyke/Black Panther/Green Lantern (Jon Stewart)." (Not even first graders want to be Jar-Jar, Skids, or Mudflap.)

Michael Bay, you certainly made it "accessible to them" and it has been incredibly damaging and it still continues.
