And it was in competition against...? Gears of War? I'm sorry but I can't really think of many other big name 360 exclusives.

While they're not as big, Alan Wake, Tales of Vesperia (at least in NA), Halo 3 and ODST (strangely, both of these have the "ONLY FOR XBOX 360" on them, while Reach's box does not. Maybe it won't be exclusive for long), Lost Planet, Bioshock, and Ninja Gaiden 2 were all (initially) 360 exclusives, several of which sold very well.

I am glad it sold well. Bungie was always good to their fans, so it makes sense that the fans are good to them. I just hope that activision does not corrupt them with their money-grubbing ways.

Just to defend my disliking of Halo. I own all the consoles and a PC that plays all available games. I still dislike Halo because I don't like the gameplay and the story has, since the very first game, been terrible.
The gameplay situation is all down to personal preference though. I simply don't like it, mainly due to playing games that started that whole style of gameplay and did it better.

Story, I just don't like bad stories with bland characters.

Why does everyone think it's so cool to hate Halo now? I played Half Life two, I played Bioshock, hell, I'm a big FF fan (except for XIII) the point is, I've been around the block, I'm not one of those people who plays two FPS's, and I've got to say, Halo is a really good game.

It's well balanced, fun, the AI is good, and it has some of the best multiplayer in history. Seriously, forge and theater are massive innovations (at least on the console side)
