Its not likely but then again its not impossible.

i hate halo fan-boys but i actually hate the people who rip on it more, because everyone knows hating popular things is the nerd motto.

I doubt if it will be the biggest game of 2010, but it will probably be in the top 10.

Note- I am a halo fan boy and so it took lots of pain to type it out.
I find you lack of faith disterbing...

Are people forgetting just how massive Halo is? No doubt as the game's release nears the marketing machine will rumble into life and crush all that stand before it. It's Bungie's last Halo, they're going to make sure it goes with a bang. It will almost certainly be one of the biggest entertainment releases of the year, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if it was the biggest. Halo is up there with Mario in terms of iconic video games.

I don't doubt it. In fact I would be surprised if it WASN'T the biggest game of the year. If memory serves, aside from ODST (which was more of an expansion than a sequel) all the halo sequels have been the best selling game of their respective year so far, and honestly what else is coming out this year? Aside from Mass Effect 2 and GoW 3, I can't think of any major IPs releasing sequels, and I'm pretty sure Halo will outsell god of war, and ME has a MUCH smaller fanbase.

Edit: Oh yeah. And FF13 might give it a bit of a run, but Final Fantasy's fanbase seems to be shrinking a lot, and all the existing fans probably would want to see a reboot of FF7 or something before they want FF13

It probably will.Just think of all the halo fanboys that will line up in front of stores to get this game.

I might be the best seller. But it probably wont be the best game of 2010.

Well, if Microsoft says it, it must be true, whether it is or not. I'm sure they've already payed off Spike TV in advance for the VGA's.
Heh...I can see it now:

And the GOTY award goes to....Halo: Reach! The crowd goes wild! *cricket chirps*

ummm are we forgetting that this claims comes from the director of marketing. Outlandish claims and hype building are his job. personally, I doubt Reach will be the biggest game of 2010, its only on 360 and ODST didn't really make any sort of impact. Good games but they should have stopped when the developers wanted to i.e after 3 games.

That's an awfully ballsy statement for Microsoft to say, considering how many big name sequels are coming out this year. By the end of this month, Mass Effect 2 will be out. In like hte first week or so of February, Bioshock 2 will be out.

Am I the only one who thinks this guy is right?

Halo games always sell well, I can't see any reason for this not to sell like hotcakes, especially if you look at the sales of ODST, and they weren't even trying with that game.

It'll be a sad day for the industry, but a happy one for the 360.

I don't know how many million retarded teen-agers will go apeshit over this, I'll be playing The Last Guardian or something with actual depth.
Couldn't have said it better myself.

What does he mean about "across all-platforms"?

Is he hinting at something there...?
