why does the pc gaming scene need leading? let the developers do as they like with it, your not gana get them to fall under your gfwl banner or w.e. you are going to attempt next.

if the pc gaming scene isn't broke you dont try to fix it. as it is now, its about 15 ranks higher then broke.

Dear Microsoft: Shut the fuck up. I'm sick and goddamn tired of your hypocritical reps talking about PC gaming and switching from "It's Dead" to "HEY IT'S A MONEY PIT!" at the drop of a hat.

You wanna be serious? Alright. Try and match everything that you want to do up to what Valve has done with Steam. Valve's been giving us games at damn near stealing prices. What are you going to offer? Are you prepared to bring back your back catalog of games on the 360 from Gears of War 2 up to Halo 3 at cheaper prices with enhanced graphics and enhanced online modes and capabilities?

Or you know what else you can do? Take GFWL, throw it in a fucking bin, and shut the stupid fuck up about PC gaming when you are clearly prepared for absolutely dick-all to do anything about it. In other words, die in a fire.
I don't care what gender you are, let's get married.

So Microsoft is going to lead the charge for PC gaming with a 360 port featuring a gyrating, burping, chicken-kicking hero with an interior-decorating component, a facebook game version of Age of Empires, and a take off-fly around a bit-land simulator?

Fine.

Call me when Microsoft announces its Train Station sim.

Windows GFWLive would have to be the biggest failure in online gaming.

Gamers avoid it at all costs. I was stung once - it will never happen again.
I do not 'purchase' any game that is Live enabled anymore as it punishes the legit consumer.

I do purchase games using steamworks as they do not punish me and actually give me convenient access to my games on any computer without activation limits or a constant internet connection.

About .000004% of the reasons is GFWL is steaming pile of shit are listed below:

1. $7 to change your name in a game. Yes - you pay to type on your own name on your own keyboard.

2. Forcing devs to remove game content for later 're-sale' as fake dlc. Effectivly turning every $45 game into a $70 game with no additional (non original) content.

3. Stopping developers adding decicated server support so that when microsoft decide to shut a game down - thats it - your money has now been stolen. The games is not multiplayer as you purchased it. This is illegal and Microsoft seems to just get away with it. If a games multiplayer then that feature must never stop working or it is false adverting.
example - Ford don't come and take the wheels off your car 3 years after you buy it. Why ? -Cause it's illegal as you, the consumer have paid for the wheels.

4. Add to that the Random crashes and drops in multiplayer gaming that GFWL causes and Microsoft still wont fix or admit too - it's easier to blame the games developers but it is GFWL causing the dropouts when they happen.

Gee Micro&soft brained people at Microsoft - Worked out why you failed yet???
1. Understandable.

2. Microsoft doesn't do this. 2K did it for Mafia 2 and Civ5. Greedy publishers are the reason for this.

3. Dedicated servers are up to the developers. GFWL fully supports them, and Microsoft's own games do as well. The Section 8 developers even praised Microsoft on how much they helped them achieve it on the PC and 360. It isn't illegal. When Steam shuts down, you lose all your games, but if you would read the ToS, you'd realise that you can't do anything legally.

4. For the people that experence this, it happens. I haven't, nor anyone I know in real life, experenced any crashes, and I know a lot of idiots. Crashes happen all the time, no matter what program you are using. It can be a number of issues, from using an older operating system to having a program open that it doesn't like. It happens. As for multiplayer drops, I don't know what you are talking about. It uses the same system as Xbox LIVE, which to many is the best multiplayer service out there. When trying to play Alien Swarm, I couldn't even connect to a game. Playing Shadowrun, I can play for hours.

ITT: Butthurt Valve fanboys.

It's okay. I'll be enjoying these games that Microsoft has coming. Games like Age of Empires, Flight and Fable. You can enjoy your Valve games, the one. Portal 2. It isn't even a PC exclusive. Valve isn't a PC developer. They are a massive publisher and a multiplat developer. They are no different than Microsoft, except Microsoft can actually make games, instead of absorb modding groups and slap their logo on it.

Viva La GFWL

I actually passed up Bioshock 2 for like $10 due to GFWL. If I need to create a new account and login just to save my game (even offline mode) then it's an automatic pass for me.
People like this are dumb. Offline profiles work just as well to save in GFWL. Even then, you shouldn't be complaining. You have to have Steam running so it can activate your games online when you install, even boxed copies of Steamworks games. That is worse than having to make an account, online or offline, to save. You won't even be able to play if Steam goes down.

I doubt 99% of pc gamers are wrong and only you are somehow right.

You should take into account that people here have actually used Steam and GFWL and your 'fanboi omg i work at microsoft' post goes against most peoples experiences with both.
You might as well try telling us the earth is flat. You might get up to 2% support on that one.

FACT: Many passed on bioshock 2 due to GFWL. It has cost the developers many millions in lost revenue. I will buy Bioshock2 the second they remove GFWL. Until then - I'll keep my money.
If Bioshock 3 uses GFWL - expect the same result.

Trying to tell people GFWL is good is kinda like trying to preach the Koran in the Vatican - pointless.
When did I ever say someone was wrong? I mean, the closest thing to that is telling the other guy Steam was worse in that case.

You should take into account the massive ammount of people who have either not used GFWL at all, but hate it because it is Microsoft/not Valve, the massive ammount of people who HAVE used it and haven't had any issues, and the ammount of people who hate it because they already have loyality to Steam. You may pull numbers out of your ass all you want, but MOST people don't have any issues. The miniorties are usually the loudest.

FACT: Bioshock 2 was still a huge sucess on the PC platform
FACT: Many people have passed up games because they use Steamworks, such as Civ5

People here bitching about Mircosoft coming back to PC gaming are like religion in general - useless.
