EDIT: saw the statistic...don't know why anyone would do that to hardware that obviously was meant to be horizontal. Only thing I can think of relates to saving space.
Ive seen plenty of people keep their desktop towers horizontal.... and i dont mean those that are designed to be so.
people often put the hardware in a way they can isntead of a way they should do it. and its kinda thier fault for that of course.
That being said, the drive is the problem? really you made your drive so shitty it cant stand being vertical? wow did they try to cut corners on the Xbox. i fear for 100% failure rate the way this is going.
Wouldnt tat also be kinda... dangerous? if the disc slips when vertical it means it can easily break apart at the speeds its going so for one your game would be ruined and when dic breaks apart it usually breakes the drive too while at it, and thats the "lucky" scenario. the "unlucky" on is you get shrapnel into your mobo/gpu and those go bust.

On the other hand, I could buy PC components and dangle them upside down from the ceiling, and they'd still work fine. They'd also be cheaper, so I'll be doing just that while waiting for the eventual release of GTA V for Windows.
Not if you use standart cooling. ive seen one too many horror shows inside towers to advise anything but optimal airflow when were talking stock cooling (think - 99% of PC users).

Wait.....So if I buy this thing which is $500+ I can't put it vertically? If I spend $500+ on a thing, I want to put it any orientation I please!
Microsoft is going to get the stupidest company in America award this year.
Wait... So if i buy this thing which is
$5000+ called a Car, i cant drive it to its speed limit on two wheels while upside down? If I spend
$5000+ on a thing, I want to drive it any way I please!
