At least they're telling us about it, but I can't help but wonder... why is it suddenly so bad to trash talk the continued failures of the Xbone? Multiple folks going "oh god stop beating a dead horse," and honestly, that's kinda fucking stupid. Beating the horse to begin with is how M$ figured out that nobody wanted their kinect bullshit, or their suicide watch checkins, or their used games DRM. People talked about stupid bullshit in the system and M$ backpedaled.
But then, guess what happened? They kept doing dumb shit and saying dumb shit. Considering that every other console in recent memory, and even as far back as PS2, has had side-playing capabilities, what kind of failure in design prevents it from working in the already pretty fucking failure Xbone? What kind of failure in design is causing this issue coming from Microsoft, the same developer that brought you the failure in design Xbox 360 with a literal death sentence on a huge chunk of its consoles? You really, REALLY don't think it's worth at least talking about? What the fuck? What universe are you guys living in? This company has a history of console failures, a history of draconian anti-consumer features AND a history of lying about them being "required for operation," followed by ferocious backpedaling, and you don't think it's worth a conversation about the potential reasons why they've failed at this part, too? Seriously?
It wouldn't be "as big of an issue" if Sony announced it, that's to be sure; but that's because Sony hasn't had an entire season's worth of stupid bullshit spewed out related to their console already. When that's all M$ has had (stupid bullshit followed by terrified backpedaling), it's really not all that hard to see why people would continue to point out its failures. Yeah, it's mostly a matter of convenience, but considering how big of a piece of shit this console is already shaping up to be, you'd think M$ would want to make it as convenient for their consumers as possible - not the opposite.
