Dude needs back on his meds.
The kid could probably use a good back hand. Or parents that actually care how their child behaves.

Also, found this and thought it was relevant, and hilarious:

Not condoning people go beat the shit out of internet people and all that, heavens no, show some damn self-restraint.

But internet people, perhaps you shouldn't taunt people you don't know. You never know if they ARE unstable, and can find you and whoop your ass.

THE MAN ASSAULTED A CHILD, AND DESERVES TO GO TO JAIL AS WELL AS BE FORCED INTO ANGER MANAGEMENT. If anyone disagrees with that, they can fuck themselves with a rusty metal pole for all I care.
I doubt anyone here is disagreeing with you. We're just finding humor in the situation. Little brats need to get checked once in a while. If you don't understand that then you're likely on the younger end of the gaming spectrum and haven't had the joy of listening to squealing voices express their delight in cheap kills. (average gamer age is 37 or something)

Yet another tragic consequence of always-on mic systems.
I am on the younger end of the gaming spectrum (18),yet I've still had the displeasure of dealing with shrieking kids online. And yet, I've never had the urge to hunt anyone down. Why, you might ask? Because I have some fucking self-control, something this guy has none of and deserves to be punished for.

And when comments like this are made:

First:
Give this guy a medal

Second:
Imprison the mother. The boy was 13, black ops is no game for a kid

Third:
Can someone give me the adress of the guy, i whant do donate some money
You can at least understand why I think the posters to this thread should just shut the hell up?
You haven't put up with the problem as long as we have. :D

You can't honestly believe anyone here actually supports the actions of that guy. The internet is packed with barely recognizable sarcasm and jokes. A lot of people are simply expressing their amusement with the situation after likely wishing to digitally donkey punch some douchey trash talker in the past.

If the kid was another adult would you finally get why people are giggling over this?

There is a limit to peoples patience. I'm pretty sure any decent troll could get you raging. Look at how you're reacting over people expressing their opinions. Thin line isn't it?

I'm sorry, but I'm missing a big detail here.

The guy tracked the kid down to where he lives and just entered? Did he knock on the door, mom opened and asked if he could just choke her son for a bit?

What?

As a responsible adult, I am required to express my disquiet that a grown man allowed verbal insults during a video game to provoke him to real-world violence.

Tiny voice inside is envisioning one of those loud-mouthed cyberbully sociopaths coming to the abrupt realization that he isn't quite so brave when he's not separated from his quarry by the perceived anonymity of a gameworld and a headset, and feeling a warm glow.

Kid was a jerkoff but you've got to rise above that stuff, the old guy needs to calm his anus, it's just a game (a really poor one at that) and no matter what some smart ass kid says it doesn't matter because you can just join another game.

Though this is but one reason I play mainly on my PC now, the community is more made up of mature people (not to say there aren't immature as well christ I wish we could single them all out)

I honestly can't blame the man. 9-14 year olds need to learn to stop acting as cocky shits at some point. Though, it would have been better if it was the parents disciplining their children to avoid something like this in the first place. We live in the age of internet. Children must not grow up with a thought that if they can't be seen they can talk trash as much as they like with no consequences. I don't want a generation of idiotic trolls to invade Internet, we have more then enough already.

And why is no one asking the question of why a thirteen year old was playing Black Ops??? Does that caring Mom allow her precious child to play 17+ at 13?

The only sad thing is that the mother interfered. I freakin' hate the fact that people act all 'innocent' when things heat up beyond what they expect. Working at a bar I see people talk crap (while sober) to someone else for any dumb reason yet when the person gets fed up and attacks them they start SCREAMING for them to stop saying they were just kidding.

As stated why did a 13 year old, have Black Ops? That is a 'mature' (18+) game and the mom just bought it for her child? Isn't there a law against that? Kid acts bad ass and 'like a man' so he should be beat like one. Yes, I sound horrible but I really don't care seeing that I agree to this only in the 'right' situation.

Should've slapped the Momma on principle. Just slap everybody.

Actually, lets get some 360s and blops in the prisons. That is sure to result in both entertainment and more news stories. Win win for everyone.

Mental health issues is a uselessly broad term. It gives zero insight into the event. If I was in a really foul mood I may even say it was discriminatory.

Ironic the amount of internet tough guy posturing in the thread; I'm sure all of you routinely backhand crying babies in restaurants, shove cellphones down the throats of people using them during a movie and shiv rude clerks at the supermarket. God help anyone who cuts you off in traffic, that's when you break out the C-4.

Well if we turn this into a real world situation where some little shit walks up to a grown man and says some of the vial things you hear on these games... he could be happy if he lived to tell the tale.

I would not hesitate to dispense some swift backhand discipline.

*sniff* I don't see the problem here. So a shit-talker was choked out. Seems like a reasonable trade-off.

Anyone who takes this as a serious endorsement of violence against children is fucking retarded.

I'd wager it equally pathetic for a 13 year old to throw insults at a grown man through a videogame.
i'd agree there m'good sir.
i really hate the kids who piss everyone off in games like this. i dont think what he did was right, but it'll probably put the little dicks in their place.

on a barely related note, do you think the guy got his XBL removed?

Is there a free cell in any jail nearby? care to take out some random person whose offense is minor and shove this man in there. That's where he belongs. If you can't handle trash talking online, you should stick to single player games.
Conversely, one could claim that if you can't handle the possibility of someone bigger and stronger than you tracking to down in order to throttle the life out of you, you shouldn't trash-talk online.

There's a long and well-established tradition of utter cowards hiding behind the legal system in order to spew invective that they'd never have the stones to utter in a situation where running your mouth can have consequences.
So it's totally OK for a grown up like him to choke a child, almost killing him if it were not for the mum's intervention. Also, that's why I am pro-gun. If it were my kid, I would have gladly shot a few rounds in that old man chubby ass.

I discovered MP via LAN and yes, anonymity is a catalyst for trash talking, and I have seen a few idiots take a few to the face when they trash talked the wrong guy. Those were the good times. But when you barge into someone's property, and hurt their kid, I don't have any pity for you or empathy for your plight. You can't handle trash talking, stop playing online gaming or find a server with moderators.

The only game where trash talking is a pain is either DOTA or HON. And that's because the game is pretty much unforgiving if one player is acting like a handicap for a team since it's not very FFA-friendly. You are either working with the team or against the team.

And for the record, being a PC gamer first, I have seen grown up acting more immaturely than kids. Bigots are worst than 13 year old kids trash talking you on x-box live about how you suck at video game.

Oh Christ....I know this is probably a bad thing, but after all the shit I've heard from thirteen year olds, this is fucking hilarious.

Also, why is a thirteen year-old playing Black Ops? I'm certain that's an 18 in the UK.
