There's just one bug that bothers me right now.

That it the one that caused my multiplayer map to break.

The one me and my friends have been building on since Easter.

It seems like a chunk is corrupt or something.

I think it's somehow related to the new maps.

Not sure how though.

This is why Mojang deserves the MM win.
For doing what a dev should do in the first place?

Damn, I am crying inside. You don't need to be exceptional to win anymore, you just have to reach the bar.
Because most developers take a really long time to get a patch out. I only heard about the problems with 1.6 yesterday, and it's already fixed. Basically no other dev except Valve actually cares enough to do that.

And you may be a bit right about the reaching the bar thing, but right now the bar is pretty low.
It's pretty easy to fix a 60 mb lego simulator compared to a game like say, new vegas. The variables are insane.

I don't really see why patch notes are news-worthy. I ain't complaining though, they post what they want.
Yes and it's pretty easy to fix a game when you've got a team of programmers working on it and not just ONE guy either.
Actually Notch has Mojang do that, but they do nothing anyways.
Notch works on nothing but Minecraft, with off and on help from others in Mojang. The rest of Mojang are working on their other IP, Scrolls.
Maybe you and others who complain Mojang does nothing but goof around should think about those times when your boss at work catches you goofing around. It doesn't matter if you worked hard up to that time, the boss is still going to give you that look.
Don't judge what you don't know.
Oh yes because we all know taking code from mods and putting it in the official game takes SO much coding and takes months upon years to make. (sarcasm)
I only saw that happening ONCE,and I'm pretty sure that about everyone was happy about him implementing it.

on the argument of 'it's a beta' and that people paid for the full release of the game which granted them access to the open beta. perhaps this should be said, Lets not encourage company to make us pay for their stuff before they are finished with it.
Well, a lot of people already pay in full for pre-orders.

Personally I wouldn't mind paying early if I got a discount and there was some sort of guarantee that the game would indeed be finished for its promised release date.

What I don't understand, no matter how hard I try, is why this game is built in java. Java has hilarious performance issues at every turn. The rule of thumb is if you want to write something quickly, use Java. If you want it to run quickly, use something else (lisp, C, etc). Honestly, I'm always amazed at how well it runs, even when it's doing horribly given the eccentricities of Java.

Most developers have to also go through millions of lines of code to find the bug. They also have to make sure that their patch doesn't interfere with the game.

EVEN THOUGH THIS IS A BETA THE PARCH SHOULDN'T HAVE KILLED THE GAME FOR PEOPLE. I think its bullshit that people keep throwing out the ITS ONLY A BETA argument every time something goes wrong. Even in most betas the game is never/rarely KILLED or debilitated by an update.
People are also saying HES WORKING WEEKENDS. SO FUCKING WHAT?! Hes designing the game. He wants people to keep playing it if he FUCKS THE GAME UP HE BETTER FUCKING FIX IT FAST.
Oh come on, have you even played more than one or two games? its extremely common for game patches to break stuff. EXTREMELY COMMON <- as you're so fond of caps.
Besides, you do know that the point of a beta is for the beta testers (you and I) to play test the game and find the bugs that the developers have inevitably caused as they change stuff? What are you suggesting exactly? that mojang should take the game into closed beta and do all the testing themselves? Would you like that? or would you rather be able to play the game?

Secondly, and perhaps more importantly this is an indie game which started out as a one man project.... were not talking major development studio with hundreds of staff here... allowances have to be made. Goes with the indie territory, you don't like it then stick to AAA.

I higly disagree with the Bethesda thing said. They have a bigger company and a bigger game. Mojang managed to fix it because they have 1 game that they have to manage.
