People think I'm a lot younger than I am, and it's only taken me until I turned 25 for clubs and bars to stop IDing me. (Age in the UK is 18.. so 7 years eh)

That's kind of misleading I guess...

People think I'm extremely emotional cold but I'm really really overly sensitive.

I'm very skinny, so much so that you could count the ribs on my body. I look like i should be underweight, but am actually at optimal weight. And yet through all this, though I look small, i have (substantially) beaten foes 20, 30, 50 lbs heavier then me in one on one fist fights.

I think my friends said it best one night while we were in the city:
Friend: You look pretty skrawny man. You must have had kids looking out for you all the time. you're like a porcelian doll.
~Five minutes later, after an attempted mugging by a teen wannabee gangbanger~
Friend: damn, you broke his arm in three places and laid him out. Can i hire you as a bodyguard?

Everyone has some things about themselves that are misleading. As for me, I have two nick names that are exceptionally misleading. These two nick names are "wolverine" and "the bear". Both imply sheer badassery, but both come from rather non bad ass reasons.

wolverine - Got nick name because I was named "Logan" after the character Wolverine from the X-men.

the bear - Got nick name because I was tricked into loudly proclaiming the phrase "I am the big gay bear" in a game of telephone last new years.

In addition to having misleading nick names, for strange reasons, I also am rather overweight and constantly look stoned, despite being a vegetarian and straight edge.

So, what are some of the misleading things about all of you?
Marshmellow butt.

One of my friends groped me when a friend told her, since then I've lost weight though. =[

I dress normally and act normally, people have no idea that i'm a video game nerd with a taste for heavy metal music.
Me? How am I here already, I don't rememeber...

Oh. You're not me. Stop taking my thing :p
Lol, this is kind of amusing but i shouldn't be surprised that there are people on here who full fill the character traits i described.

Anyhow, a question: Since coming to university i've invariably slipped into the "normal people" crowd, i've never actually been able to make many friends who are quite my sort. Part of me thinks that if i had grown long hair and worn Iron Maiden or video game t-shirts from day one then i may have made friends with people more my type, as they would have been able to see what my interests are just by looking at me, and not assume i'm just another student with normal interests.

It says on your profile that your a student like me, have you had similar problems?
Not especially since my course is geared towards attracting mostly nerds, but I guess I don't really fit within the crowd I actually hang out with, not one of them shares my musical tastes xD there is a metalhead clique but I only occasionally hang out with them. I guess it just depends on how much overlap there is between your degree and other interests. I guess if there's metalheads or gamers on your course just strike up a conversation if you can and get talking to them.
My course tends to attract fairly ordinary people, i guess your either doing something related to games design or maths or physics. At any rate, some say university is all about mixing with people you wouldn't normally associate with anyway.
You were right on your first guess :D
I'd be inclined to agree, if it were not for uni I wouldn't normally find myself hanging out with indie hipsters, mid-20s manchilds, freerunning conspiracy theorists and bass-afficionado stoners. Just a few examples of my fellow students. Mix and mingle I say, it could prove to be more fun than hanging out with a bunch of like-minded friends all the time.

Because of my over analysing that seems like pessimism, hating of injustice to the point of crying, and following people around since I have nothing better to do, I seem like a mentally weak person.
Not true. I fight the urge to kill people quite well.

Also people think that because I have glasses, I'm the type to do amazing at school. I appear to do well, when really, compared to the great academic people, I do meh. But I'm still intelligent. Just too intelligent for common people, but not intelligent applicably enough to do overly well academically or be praised for it.

I collect various weapons whenever I travel (ex., machete in Jamaica, spear and knife from Africa) and carry more knives on me than Mad Max.

I'm also a total pacifist and can't even be mean to people. I also work with children. I usually only carry the leatherman when at work...

Mostly 3 things that ppl have thought me to be, high on weed, hungover(cause of lack of sleep i often look hazy and red-eyed) or that something must be wrong(other then the fact that i'm staring at a moron, nothing) due to my appearance.
On a fun sidenote, i have on occasion been able to lead ppl to believe that i'm a sociopath.

Also, I wear skinny jeans and mostly black clothing but I have never, ever been part of the emo-subculture. And my hair generally hangs over my left eye. And I kinda like Taking Back Sunday.
That. I wear skinny jeans a lot (In fact, I'm wearing them right now :D) and typically dark clothing, if not all black. And my hair will sometimes just fall over my left eye as well.

However, I'm not emo or goth and I've never been part of that culture.

But I hate Taking Back Sunday :p

Did you ever get around to posting that picture of you that you promised to post? I'm betting you thought everyone forgot. Well likely everyone but me did.

Indeed I did. I posted that a while ago, but it was pretty far into the thread, but yes, I did post a picture of myself.
