I love how she thinks a position of shallow moron is the most anyone can strive to. Also, most gamers are male, how are WE supposed to become Miss America?

Gamer 1 - Air headed (and somewhat ugly if I may add) prick, 0.

Also, I paid £20 for a second Wiimote, and all this time I only needed sticks?! Christ, I dun' 'alf feel ripped off.

Edit - Why was she out of the kitchen anyway*?

*It's a joke mods, you'd miss me if I were gone.

Well she can say what she wants to, it's just a good thing that no one listens to women like her. Seriously she thinks video games are bad for people? Well fine, but I think that the beauty contests are worse because what kind of impression does that give kids, mainly girls?

I hate to say it but I fail to see what the big deal is about the comment.
At best she's allowed to have her own opinion
Realistically I fail to see how an opinion expressed by a beauty pageant winner is relevant.

historically we have pageant contestants playing buzz word bingo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WALIARHHLII

or just flat out being exploited

It comes down to someone said something stupid during their fifteen minutes of fame. I still have enough faith in humanity that I can say she won't segway from this to politics. So it really boils down to someone said something dumb on tv again.

Wow she's Miss America. She can't be too bright, why value her opinion anyway?

Seriously though I think all she was trying to get across is that American youth need to exercise more, which is true. I don't think she meant that "All video games = the devil, time for a good old book burning, but with video games!"

"I was a pianist, but not quite good enough to get a music scholarship; an athlete, but I didn't play a varsity sport; smart, but not smart enough to get an academic scholarship. So competing in the Miss America program was an opportunity to get a scholarship for school."

That's right, kids: When all else fails, you can put on a bikini, climb up on a stage and shake your moneymaker for Rush Limbaugh. Dare to dream!
The best quote of the year. Gosh if only I knew it was that easy, I wouldn't go for my Graphic Arts Degree. Thanks Miss America.

Parents need to "encourage" their kids to play outside instead, she added, saying they should be "playing imaginary games with sticks in the street like I did when I was little."
My only regret is that I was not alive back then and happen to be driving down said street with a semi.

k so id hate to play the devils advocate here but...

one person says one thing about people not playing video games and that they should GO OUTSIDE FOR ONCE, and everyone here starts saying shes "bashing" and needs to shut up and keep her uninformed opinion to herself?

sorry but, what part about "turning off the tv and going outside to play" is uninformed? that sounds like a DAMN good idea to me, especially for kids these days. now, im not sure if i have the full story here, but from what was posted and from what i read in front of me, this woman didnt say she "hated" videogames, all she said was that "parents need to stop letting their kids play games and have their kids play outside." so what the hell is the big problem people?

But seriously, she's hardly of an opinion many would place faith in. She won a beauty contest. Whoopty-doo!

cherish this.

secondly, i'm sure she'd get along great with effron's hoe.

I never liked those "Miss" people. how did she win anyway, she seems quite ugly in my opinion.

More to the point though: I did play with sticks when I was a kid, And nearly poked me eye out. i was at my calmest when I had a game boy in me hand, which was very goos since I was a very hyperactive child.

She wants to blind children by having them prod themselves and others with sticks. She's a witch, burn her.

Beauty but no brains, I'm going to assume she's never had time to play videogames while duct taping her ass cheeks into a good shape for some judges, so why is she talking about it as if she knows?

She's 22, video games existed before she did, and I'm sure she didn't have to play with sticks, she might've had to play with some "sticks" in order to become Miss America though.

Get it?? She had to sleep around! *slaps knee* Oh, boy!

Indeed, take the little shits off of xbox live please!

Seriously though, I'm all for finding balance between sitting on your ass and going out in the sun...but can't you at least give the kids a basketball or water guns or...something besides sticks?

And why am I being told how to raise my children by a 22-year-old beauty pageant winner?
How many children has she raised?

Eh, just goes to show how hating video games is the fashionable thing now.
Apparantly.

Ah well, I highly doubt anyone is going to listen to her...they are all brain-dead bimbos anyway

Caressa Cameron is a beautiful soul. And as the father of her illegitimate child, I can vouch for the fact that we would never spend money on video games for our daughter. We are instead saving that money, as Caressa's parents did, for our daughter's eventual boob job when she too tries for Miss America.

P.S. See our daughter, Jalessa Cameron, in an upcoming episode of Painted Babies on TLC!

Broadcast Journalism is her major, and she doesn't want people to have T.V.s?
