Why are people getting so pumped up for this? It still looks godawful. I really don't get it. Have we learned nothing from CoD: Not Another WWII Shooter, MW2 and BlOps?

It's going to disappoint. Every one of the last 3 CoD games has. Or has everyone convinced themselves BlOps is good now?

Also why do I see a soldier with an American flag patch in France? I gotta think if we're getting invaded, we aren't really down for sending soldiers elsewhere, I think we've got enough problems.

Who the hell is even invading the entirety of the west? Russia? How and why? I asked this question in the teaser trailer, and not a single person answered.

They might as well have added "Herp derp" at the beginning of the dialogue. The Modern Warfare series was in the process of jumping the shark in MW2, it has finished that jump with these trailers.
im sorry but, if you are going to ramble on about how bad you think a game will be before it even comes out, then you need to get some facts straightened out, and the reason no one answered your earlier question is because it hasnt been revealed yet... also, it does not look bad at all, in fact it looks better than many other recent game i can think of.

Conviced themselves? Wow... Just Wow... I am sorry but I like I cant even begin to comprehind how ignoratnt this post is...
Well, for one, IW as it was known doesn't actually exist anymore. So, they can't really fuck anything up.

For two, they reveal enough to show the entire Western World being invaded, by an unknown enemy, perhaps Russia. Who the hell has the ability to do that? In the first MW, we set-up that Russia was weak and having problems between the current government and ultra-nationalists.

In two they're amazingly powerful enough to invade US soil, not only US soil, but Washington DC.

Now in 3, either them or some unknown force is able to invade not only the US, but the entire Western World. Oh, there's plenty here that needs to be explained. You just don't have an explanation.
Who says one force is invading everything? It's a World War not a World against one war, it just says that it takes one man to get things going doesn't mean that for example germany can't be at war with france and england with the US (well that's a very simple example just to showcase that it doesn't have to be one big opposition)

In the MW continuity, only one plothole really bothers me - how did the Russia - America war not escalate to nuclear strikes?

I mean, for decades people were certain that if WW3 did happen, it would basically be the end of civilization. Their was even a doomsday clock endorsed by scientists, for gods sake! Does the MW franchise exist in a parralel universe where nuclear disarment actually suceeded, or something, cause that's the only way WW3 would ever involve the sorts of ground-wars seen in this trailer.

I know attacking MW for being unrealistic is like attacking Commando for unrealism, but this is just stupid.

I hope people stop buying this shit.

I'm so sick of this generic cookie cutter FPS which will spawn 5 "sequels" (i.e. reskins)

I love this thread, no seriously. The amount of hate in here is fantastic. Can't wait to buy MW 3 and BF 3 and you know actually enjoy the game without complaining about everything.

is it sad that although i'm excited for this game to come out and to see a resolution to the storyline, the thing that made me the MOST excited was the possibility of getting another single player AC-130 mission?

Still not buying it.

Also,

American soldiers in Germany makes sense however they had to have American soldiers in FRANCE?!?!

[sarcasm] Because of course the French couldn't possibly defend themselves. [/sarcasm]

Looks...interesting. Not spectacular, like Skyrim or Call of Duty 4(I am now refusing to abbreviate it). Not bland and uninteresting, like Black Ops. I'm still going to hold out for actual gameplay footage (more than 2 second clips) until I make an informed decision. So, in other words, E3 will be the point where I make my set-in-stone decision, like it's been for the past three years on any videogame title.

Right now, if I had to make a decision...rent.

Think: If treyark hadn't gotten involved in COD, I doubt people would be saying
"OMFG THIS LOOKS JUST LIEK TEH OLD ONE"

Seriously, thanks for ruining the francise with your mediocre WW2 shooter, and your crappy, unrealistic 'nam story.

The campaign better have some lenght, or I will be ongry at Infinity Ward, and then never buy a CoD game again... I said that after MW2... but I bought black Ops... THIS TIME I SWEAR I WON'T!!! I SWEAR I- A game about Operation Desert storm you say? Well, treyar- OH GOD...

Because realism and plausibility is what makes a game fun eh.

I will have fun playing the game no matter how ridiculous this 'all-out-international-deathmatch' is because it IS an 'all-out-international-deathmatch'. If an explanation is not at the heart of a game, I will not ask one of it.

I don't care how contrived or extreme the plot or concept of a game is, if they can deliver some fantastic fiction for us to play in and enjoy - I'm not going to sit here and complain about how implausible the game is.

I'm kind of speculating wildly here, but I'm pretty sure it will have some vehicle turret sequences along with at least one sequence where you drive a vehicle and shoot guys at the same time, some stealth missions with silenced weapons, ghillie suits and a lot of "get down!", at least one nuclear explosion, some slow-mo thing at the end in which you kill the bad guy at the very last minute, and some protagonist deaths. And all within the space of about 5 hours.

I'm excited, but if it doesn't have Keith David or Hans Zimmer I'm done... :p

EDIT: Seriously, with all these modern combat games coming out I really am missing world war 2. I didn't think i'd ever say that, but I am.
I'm not :)

However, I'd love to see a WWII expansion for BF3 later next year, perhaps. That could be awesome.
Yeah thats kinda what I want, like massive epic battles in a WW2 setting battlefield style. Also, thousands of weapons to unlock/choose from as i know full well their were ALOT of different weapons used in that war not just thompsons.

Amen, brother!

Seriously, if a game allows me to play the main character in an over-the-top action movie, I don't give a damn how ridiculous, bad, or ridiculously bad the story may be.

Just when I thought I was done with COD, due in thanks to Black Ops (pile of shit) they suck me back in with this. However, before I jump on the hype wagon, I'll wait for various reviews and gameplay to be presented.

Call of Duty is going to end up just like another Activision series. The Tony Hawk franchise. Done to death with nothing new. Sure, they tried to freshen it up with cheap plastic toys but they were broken and expensive.(Guitar hero. *knudge**knudge*) It's just too repetitive for my taste. Maybe if treyarch or infinity ward can create a game that takes place in say the 1800s during the civil war, maybe I would consider. It would be a very nice change of pace.

Is it just me, or is the Hind the only freakin' vehicle the Russians have? Besides their submarine. Because you see F-22s, and A-10, the German perhaps Panther tank, humvees, all this variation for the supposed Allied forces, and for the Russians? Hind, Hind, Hind. So basically, you see a Hind, you run the hell away.

I recommend all you obedient sheep who yell "OMG AEWSOME" at this tripe watch the latest episode of Big Picture. If y'all bought indie games with the 60 or so dollars you'll be paying for this, who knows where we'd be now.
