Oh please. Skyrim is still raping the active topic section of this website. Even on their release neither BF3 or MW3 were nearly as bad.

Well I can't speak for everyone, but I don't hate it. I just don't like it. Because I do not find the game fun.
Probably the most sensible reason I have seen for not liking CoD, ever. Seriously.

Hell if I know. Sure it's not the pinnacle of gaming, but Modern Warfare 1,2, and 3 have all been incredibly fun and visceral. And, I have only played the single player campaigns and Spec-Ops since I hate multiplayer.

I only play single player, and I have fun with every CoD game that comes out. Yes, they aren't the longest games around, but that is what the video store is for.

The difference is we know damn well that there wont be another Elder Scrolls game the next year, people will stop talking about it. I rarely heard anyone talk about Oblivion a year or two after it was released.

The fact that Call of Duty is on a yearly release schedule means the talk never ends.

Well, not everyone hates it. Me, for example. And the several million that buy it each year. It's just that it's the most popular game series. And therefore it is going to have the highest amount of "haters". Add in the fact that Battlefield in another popular series in the same vein as CoD and you have yourself quite a bit of hate.

I hate MW3 because I've watched friends play it and it's more or less an extremely overpriced DLC to MW2. Aside from mild changes, it hasn't improved at all from its predecessor.

It's the same reason harvest moon has become a POS in recent years. Rune Factory was the best thing they did for the franchise because it changed it from being expansions/new people to a previous farming game, into an action-RPG with farming elements.

Plus, in MW2 you didn't really control anything. You were put into a character that had no impactful choices whatsoever, and frankly I think having zero choices needs to get flushed down the drain.

Personally, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare remains one of the best shooters ever made. Unfortunately, every year they look at the previous game and say "Ok, how can we make these even dumber so more fucktards buy this thing?"

World at War was a joke of a game, and Treyarch were a laughing stock after it came out. Infinity Ward smashed the WWII FPS Hell to pieces by reinventing their franchise as a modern military shooter. Treyarch were left spinning.

Modern Warfare 2 remains one of the worst games of all time. It's plot was insulting stupid, it's multiplayer so broken and utterly unplayable as to call into question the mental capacity of it's developers.

Black Ops was were the games actually didn't matter any more. Activision Blizzard was the proud owner of a series that people would buy because it was popular. I never played Black Ops. I don't want to, either.

Modern Warfare 3 is, by all accounts, the same as everything before it. By all accounts it's multiplayer is less broken, but it's single player campaign is certainly dumber and less fun. And adding a Horde mode to a military FPS is insulting to everyone involved.

treyarch made the first cod without it there wouldn't of being MW1 MW2 or 3.. plus modern warfare 1 and 2 graphics are peasant like to black ops.. nothing is wrong with black ops.. in MW you get cross map tubes people that think they quickscope but they just press 2 buttons in quick rotation hoping to get a kill while there screen is black

I find Call of Duty fun. Can't explain why. I'd probably not have that much fun playing Battlefield because, from what I've heard from just about every person I've asked, it's much more cooperative and team based. I'm fine playing with teams, but I often have more of a long wolf play style.

I buy the new COD every year because it remains "the same". Keep telling yourself it's the exact same thing, the formula itself remains, but there are hardly "no differences between games". I don't even know if I'd still enjoy it if IW/Treyarch decided to change the game into something completely different, which is basically the only thing people seem to be satisfied with.

Call of Duty isn't much of a unique FPS. Just a standard FPS with regenerating health, and fast paced, long wolf style gameplay. It is what it is. You either like it or you don't. People keep saying that COD is the same shit every year, but what even qualifies as "different" in their books anyway? It's never been defined by anyone.

I don't hate Modern Warfare 3. I hate the damned individuals who consistently criticize my refusal to purchase it.

I don't like it. You do. That's fine, but don't question my stance.

I won't lie, I originally thought Modern Warfare 3 was going to suck shit through a crazy straw from all of the pre-release footage and had put in a solid day of playtime in Battlefield 3's multiplayer before actually playing a friends copy of MW3. I actually enjoyed it enough to pick up a copy myself, it's the same old COD, but after being let down so badly by MW2, I enjoyed playing a good modern warfare game again.

I got my copy severely discounted, and it's fun to just jump on multilayer and mindlessly shoot stuff every now and then. If you don't like it because you want something more complex and interesting, I can see why.

I never expected such a high quality experience, and I like playing barebones (without killstreaks), so it keeps me occupied for an hour or so when I'm bored and don't have much to do, or I'm killing time before class.

When the single player campaign lasts longer than 10 hours I'll consider it. Throw in the fact that Activision is whoring the COD franchise the same way they did Guitar Hero and THPS means they will never get my money.

Although I understand your rage, you just have to accept that CoD and Battlefields make up the absolute lowest elcheon of gaming, just below E.T., the game.

Except in these two cases, there are enough crazy American mid-west rednecks buying the games to keep them from being thrown into the landfills.

I liked the single player. It was interesting, good setting and wrapped up the whole MW# series.
The multiplayer, I'm not interested in that at all.

I'm not one for enjoying the purchase of a FIFA more than once every 3 years, because it's redundant. And yet I still buy every COD game that comes out, because each have their own personalities and stories, and not a single one has failed to bring something new to the franchise. Anyone that looks at COD and says they can't tell the difference between COD4 and MW3 is just being cynical.

And if it helps, I own Battlefield: Bad Company so I'm far from one of those elitist fanboys you referred to.

Also, I hate it when people think just because you enjoy COD or Battlefield then you're automatically a fanboy and therefore your opinion doesn't count.

Because it's just a copy and paste, if the people parroting bullshit to try and hide the fact that they've never played it and are just bashing it because it's cool are to be believed.
