Before reading furthure please note that I am not saying that you are evil for folling christianity.
dam just one guy or a whole group if a whole group it would have to be christianity from about 2000 years ago not mordern day christens very very very sorry if you took offense and if modderaters take this down i understand but considering that they basiclly had more power then any one else at the time from about 1000AD and 1600AD they ruled your life in Europe.
some priests had heratics, witches, and homosexuals tourtued or burned at the stake (thats where the term ****** was inveted to mean gays, they tossed them on witches fires saying that they where faggots of wood)
They started a holy war killing thousands and making a feud that goes on to this day destroyed many many native religions when exploration started
science and further human advancement barely moved and inch
not saying that any mordern christiens are evil today just saying that much pain and suffering has been done by those who say they do Gods work.
I know that christiens have done alot of good but in my own opinion christianity has alot against it.
I realize that you're trying hard not to offend me but I want to point one thing out...
Would you, as a gamer, take the blame for the Columbine shootings, just because the people who did it supposedly played video games?
If the answer is something along the lines of, "No the individual should be blamed for their own actions, I shouldn't be put in the same category as them!" Then please, please, reflect upon your opinion of Chiristianity in that light.
You wouldn't dare say that school shootings were a mark against video games, so how can you say that the crusades were a mark against Christianity?
Think about how wars or other big political movements (such as the Spanish Inquisition) start. They are always started by politicians, often for political reasons. But the real reason for the war isn't always something that a politician actually wants to reveal to others, because in actuality it's a stupid reason. The real reason might be something like... "They have and I want it for myself!" or "I don't like that guy!" or... whatever...
Regardless of how stupid their reasons are, they want to go to kill a bunch of people anyways. So they come up with a bullshit excuse so that the public will have an easier time swallowing the idea that they're killing a bunch of people. And what was popular at the time? What was an easy button to push in order to get people riled up? Religion. Everyone was into it. Hell, they were REQUIRED to be. It was not only socially acceptable, but legally required. So it'd be easy for a king or queen, or even a bishop or a pope, to start a war for petty personal reasons and then use God as a scapegoat for their own personal sociopathic idiocy.
Considering that, you have to realize that if these things weren't done "for God!" then it would've been started "for The Fatherland!" or "for Freedom!" or "FOR THE HORDE!!" or.... whatever. And once you realize that, you have to also realize that those wars and killings would've happened regardless of whether or not Christianity was even mainstream at the time. And once you realize that, can you really say that Christianity was even responsible for any of those things?
Quite frankly, Christianity is still around, but burning people at the stake and going on crusades are things that are NOT practiced anymore. So that in itself proves that Christianity isn't really even responsible for those things. Rather, an easily corruptable system of government based upon generations of rampant incest is much more likely to be the TRUE culprit of such going-ons.
To support my point, the Nazis did what they did in the name of "the Fatherland", which to them was Germany.
