they werent bad in 1, but they are like cockroaches in 2, and they COMPLETLY break the flow of all the awsomeness.
I agree. I was doing the part where you have to sneak by a bunch of them. I forget which rank. And the second person I came across saw me. I actually had to take COVER in NMH! I picked them off one by one when they came to me. Yeesh.

The Deathclaws from fallout 3. Super fast, super deadly and super frustrating!
Worse than them are those damn Albino Radscorpions. The Deathclaws would at least die after a few shotgun blasts to the head, those damn Albino Radscorpions could take like a million rounds to the face and still keep coming.

I have a passionate dislike for the Poison head crab zombies from HL2. They always seemed to come out of nowhere for me, and they were a pain in the ass to kill.

Spiderants on Playthrough 2 of Borderlands suck as well. On the first Playthrough they were a breeze to kill, but second time around it seems like none of my shots can stun them, even direct shot-gun blasts to the head. Towards the end I just did my best to avoid them altogether.

Lies. Hunchbacks from Castlevania are far more annoying.

Pretty much everything in the original Metroid was annoying.

Lust Demons from Dante's Inferno. When you first come across them they're extremely annoying. (Especially if you prefer the Scythe to the Cross)

EDIT:

I hated those when I first came across them in Ravensdale (IIRC).

The dividing monsters from Final Fantasy 3. They were an incredible pain in the ass and the encounter rate always seemed like it had skyrocketed when you got to that point in the game.

I must vote for the fallen angels from Devil May Cry 3, THEY FLY THROUGH THE WALLS AND THROW EXPLOSIVE SWORDS! WHO THE HELL designed and enemy THAT ISN'T CONSTRAINED BY WALLS!! Thank god they only happen a few times.
Oh you'd love the the Fausts and Mephistos from Devil May Cry 4 then, pretty much the same thing, only more annoying.

I would say it has to go to the Blitzs in DMC4....you can't hit them with your sword or you get shocked, they teleport around randomly, they take forever to kill, and some of their attacks are just evil..

What are some of the most frustrating enemies you have ever faced in a video game?
YMIR mechs as an insanity vanguard in ME2, before getting the weapon pickup. These are the most recent frustrating enemy type I've fought.
Also, the collector ship platform battle is a pain in the arse as a vanguard because charge glitches to hell and back during the entire fight.

Feral Ghoul Reavers and Swampfolk in Fallout 3,

these guys take so many rounds to the head, you'd think there'd be nothing left but their neckbones sticking out.

Also the sand creatures in Prince Of Persia: Sands of Time, these guys appear over and over agin, I can barely tell if they're beating me, or if I'm beating them, at least not until I got that one sword that kills sand creatures with 1 slash.

This'll be my first post, though I've been reading the forum since the beginning of the March Mayhem tournament. I like the atmosphere and environment here and it seems like a really legitimate discussion board.

Anyways I digress, I would have to say the most irritating enemy I've faced were the cloaking guys that could crawl on the ceiling and walls and then leap at you in F.E.A.R. God did they piss me off. First time one popped out it scared the crap out of me and I didn't want to round any corners for fear of my life bar. =P

I agree that Feral Ghoul Reavers were irritating in Fallout 3 as well, just so much health.

Oh, and the T-Rex at the END of Turok for Xbox360 because she was so irritating to outrun, turn around and get 1-2 rounds or a remote explosive off and then outrun for another 30 seconds.

I'm very sure that there are many many more in the irritating enemies repertoire, but I just can't think of them right now.

This would be the same for me. Especially the golden ones in the clock tower that if you aren't careful you fall on the spikes for a double whammy. Harpies were a MAJOR pain too. I hated that entire part. >.< Good music though.

Hamsters in Valkyrie Profile. Almost nothing hits them because of how small they are, and they can murder you in no time.

My contribution? Pretty much anything in the second half of Metroid Prime 2 Not so much frustrating as annoying. Grenchlers and Dark Grenchlers take the cake though. Fffuuuucccckkkk these cunts. WHY YES I loooove enemies with too much HP, retarded strength, insane speed and the ability to reach me no matter where I go that have only one weakness on their back that is stupidly hard to hit because if you don't hit it dead on your shit will bounce the fuck off.
good god yes! I have to agree with you whole heartedly there >.> i hated this part of the game so much because they were freaking rediculous to kill (especially on the harder difficulties...) I still remember freaking out when i had to fight them for the first time (not because they were scary... more because they were absolutely Brain-Hemorrhagingly annoying

Gladiator. Not even funny. I've killed the Asmodian version of the Norris Crab on my own. Gladiators just. Don't. Die. The attacks are slow as hell, but I can kill most Elyos (Yes, I only went there for the rhyme) within a single blow.

Bartandeus or whatever the second time you fight him in FF13

inb4 FF sucks that boss caused me to rage quit that game and i havent played it since. I spent an hour chopping down his immense HP just for him to cast a timed death spell on me when he had 10% health left. Time ran out and i died when he had little over 10k health left out of 4 million.

Three words
FUCK THAT SHIT *slams controler down*
Im guessing you mean Primarch Barthandelus. Yeh that was a bit annoying...
Reminds me of when I first played through Final Fantasy X and got to Yunalesca. My characters were very underpowered and I used up all my overdrives on the other boss just before, since I had no idea what was coming up. Anyway, I spent a long time getting remedies to get auto-med on all my armour (seemed like a good idea at the time) before getting killed by Mega Death since I'd cured the zombie status *sniff*.

More on topic: I know everyone will be saying it, but the Satyrs in GoW3 made me want to throw something at the screen.

Keese (bats) from every Legend of Zelda game. Worse when they game hopped to 3D; they were harder to spot, could run away and thus harder to kill and much more frustrating.

Dark Pirates are annoying too. They have too much health and they teleport too much making it hard to just light beam them to death. Teleporting around and making a battle last ten minutes is not fun or hard, just annoying.
as a great picture once told me...

"I HAVE FURY!!!"
