Longshot, Marvel, gotta go with him, he can continously make himself carzy lucky, on top of being super agile, accurate, and lighthearted. Besides, everyone knows, its better to be lucky than good. ;)

Superman is a fucking Mary Sue. Why do people like him?

Edit: Aquaman controls Cthulu. He has my vote depending on how powerful Cthulu is.
Cthulu just lives in the ocean, hes not from the ocean, so Aquaman can't control him
Feh, close enough. Besides, Aquaman was able to kill Cthulu at one point.
WHAT? when?
TvTropes mentioned it here. [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/HeartIsAnAwesomePower] Go to the comics section and Aquaman should be first on the list.

All villains fear her.
Ah yes, Squirrel Girl. The most powerful superhero in the Marvel universe.

Actually, after rereading some comics, if Spawn is considered a superhero, he wins considering he could erase things from existence by thinking about it towards the end.

Completely forgot about Darwin...he's not used nearly often enough, but then isn't he in X-Factor now? Not a comic I read currently.... When I learned of him, I thought he was quite a compelling character.
I'm gonna be honest with you: Other than a rudimentary knowledge of how his powers work, I don't know a thing about Darwin. I'm not a huge X-man fan, but ever since I did a bit of research on him I've known he's definitely the most powerful being in the Marvel Universe, except maybe The Hulk. You cannot read Planet Hulk and World War Hulk and think the Hulk is anything but godlike.
Makes perfect sense!

I still maintain that the Hulk is the strongest one there is (u see wat I did there?).

I have always maintained that he could beat the hulk, since he has no limit to his rage and therefore has no limit to his strength.

I agree. Yes, Supes is overpowered when compared to a lot of other heroes and a lot of his villains. But when the shit hits the fan and he's in a fight with someone like Darkseid then it's something to behold. Like I said on my blog, I think people's perceptions of Superman, his powers and his weaknesses mainly come from the films where his main enemies were Lex Luthor and some Kryptonite. If they made a film where he fights Darkseid, Doomsday hell, even Bizarro or Brainiac, then I think a lot of the stigma around him will go.

On topic: I vote Superman. He's not my favourite character, but he is immensely powerful, and a symbol of hope. And that is NOT a bad thing.

Nice to see some appreciation for Aquaman in this thread though.

Dr. Manhattan, Thor, and Silver Surfer IMO.
If they aren't gods, they're near-god galactic beings of such awesome force.

Macguyver. He could defeat anyone by picking his nose, blinking and using paper clips, soap and chewing gum to create untold weapons of unimaginable strength.

If not him, then captain Falcon from F-Zero. FALCON PAAAWNCH!!!!!

Superman as he is bland and unimaginative and therefore he is all powerful and the most powerful one.

Noone else could beat him, unless there is an unheard of cryptonite man, which really wouldn't surprise me coming from his universe.
No point to continue on, he may be completely bland but superman does beat everyone else.

Why does everyone forget that Superman is vulnerable to magic? I mean, if you're gonna bash him for being "boring and uncreative" entirely (rather than the quality of his character depending on the quality of the writer), at least get both of his weaknesses out of the way.

Meanwhile...

EDIT: Then again, I actually remember an extensive list somewhere that argued for Thor and Silver Surfer being technically more powerful than him, too.
I'm with this guy...clearly the most powerful. I mean, Sorcerer Supreme - he could create a whole new universe without a Dr Manhattan and just have everyone move ship without ever knowing. WHY haven't they prepped a Dr Strange movie yet?! I mean Jesus, they're doing a Deadpool film, they've raped Hulk twice and they're re-starting Spiderman...surely everyones favourite doctor of magic should have a go?

Deadpool has the forth wall on his side, which means if he gets killed he can reappear later for no apparent reason and if asked why he is still alive he can just shrug his shoulders and say "I dunno"

You are forgetting Darwin from the X-men. Super-man has Kryptonite. You shove radiation at Darwin, and his body will start feeding off it. Take it away, and he won't need it any more. The man is quite literally invincible.
But Darwin's powers are largely defensive, in a fight with the Hulk his body figured the best thing to evolve was teleportation to get him out of the situation. So while it's really really hard for him to die, I doubt he could beat anyone big in a straight up fight.

...I am much a fan of the Wolverine, what with the only way to kill him being to encase him in a substance arguably more rare than Kryptonite

Then I thought of Dr. Manhattan, and realized that he can synthesize elements/any heroes' weakness, and atomize all the others without true weaknesses.

He wins by virtue that he cannot be beaten. If defeat is no longer an option, the only thing left is victory. And yes, I count escape as a victory, "He who fights and runs away, lives to fight another day."
