Though technically not a weapon, SR1 Normandy in Mass Effect 2? Collectors made short work of it..
I don't think that counts. You admitted it wasn't a weapon and the Normandy was very useful! It took you places! And prevented you from dying out in the cold vacuum of space (up until its destruction anyway)!

Two people mentioned Pokemon's Splash already, so I put forth Growl and String Shot. They never saved my pokemon. They just made battles feel longer.
Aye, that I did. But the SR1 Normandy died about 5 minutes into the game, wasn't talking about the SR2.
Though speaking of Mass Effect, I'd say that the Nuke Launcher...thing (you can tell I know my ME stuff....) is pretty useless. Though that could just be me. I can only get it to explode in my face (giggidy) and give Shepard a quick dose of radiation. :p

I see both your crappy weapons and raise you:

The absolutely shittiest weapon in the game. Inferior to the rifle in every possible manner, and you can only get any kills with it either at little over melee range or if your opponent messes up and runs into your projectile. The projectile is simply too slow and visible for TF2, so it can be avoided AFTER being fired.

No reason to ever use this weapon. It's a useless pile of shit for people who are too bad to land a shot with the rifle, and instead substitute having to aim with luck and spam. Luck is the only way to get a kill with this pile of junk anywhere but at very close range.

And it uses the slot of one of the best weapons in the game.
My face when...

... I have been repeatedly dominated by snipers using that weapon.

even when I am playing as Scout.

Yet I suck when using the weapon myself.

Silenced ACR without stopping power, from MW2
I raise you, the silenced M240.

M240 is WORTHLESS. Unlocked AFTER the MG4 yet with way WAY worse accuracy and the same damage, and on top of that... the silencer doesn't even work!!

So you have a massive huge and unwieldy weapon that is incredibly weak and still visible on radar.

At least with suppressed ACR you have at moderately close range a 4 hit kill, a silenced Machine gun lowers the damage rate at ALL ranges, it is a 5 hit kill even point blank. You could be quite stealthy with a silenced ACR, especially if without stopping power you had cold-blooded.

PS: MG4 + grip > ACR (for defence)

There's nothing to it. Just aim at areas where people are moving, pull back, and let it rip. Hope you get lucky and someone runs into it. That's all the skill involved in it.

If you keep getting dominated by it either someone is REALLY lucky, or you're doing something terribly wrong, like moving linearly and very predictably.

On a similar note, Your Eternal Reward. You can't disguise and decloaking is painfully slow, so you're reduced to using good 'ol fashioned stealth to avoid enemies until you backstab one. And when you do, they just tell their friends over voice chat.
Thank you for reminding me of the Conniver's Kunai! Seriously, why do you want to start out WEAKER than a SCOUT?!

at least heal pulse actually does something. Certain pokemon can benefit from having their opponents out on the field for long periods of time. Splash literally does nothing. NOTHING.

FatMan from Fallout 3.
It causes "save for later, never use" syndrome. :|
When I went through Fallout 3 playing a heavy weapons + explosives user it was the only weapon I had ammo for (Except the MIRV, which after I got I used whenever I was outside since I had lots of nukes and just wanted everything near me to die) which meant that the 2 weapons I used was the Fatman/MIRV and Nuka Grenades (That I made)

Since firearms are so common, I would have to say pretty much any melee weapon in Fallout 3 or Fallout: New Vegas.
Not if you're playing NV on hardcore, where ammo has weight. Melee weapons are fucking life savers!
Melee weapons in FO:3 + NV are quite powerful but my experience has it so that I take way too much damage trying to get in range to hit someone where I could have killed them before taking more than a hit or 2 with a decent rifle or pistol... (Ammo weight also isn't a problem if you don't carry around crap tons of food and water expecting to need to eat and drink more than once every couple of RL hours)

On Topic:
Master Sword in Zelda: Orcarina of Time... I really didn't see the point in using it since the Big Goron's Sword does more damage (Allowing you to take out bosses in 1-4 jump attacks) the only time I use the Master Sword in that game is against Ganon (I'm not sure but I think he can only be defeated with the Master Sword, either that or I always choose to switch weapons right as I get him down to needing a hit to kill him each time)

I have no idea if this has been posted yet, and I am not looking through 8 pages to find out.

I remember a gun in Earthworm Jim 2 called the bubble gun. What did it do? It shot bubbles. Do I mean explosive bubbles? No. Bubbles that trap enemies? No. Bouncy bubbles? What are you stupid? How would that be a good gun? No this gun just shot bubbles. Like the kind that you blew. They didn't do any damage and floated straight up from your gun. The gun was basically there to get in your way and leave you vulnerable. I never found a use for it at any rate.

The Bastard from Metro 2033. This gun is garbage. Granted, it's supposed to be.
The Wiki gives tips to how you can beat the game without using any other automatic. However, you can beat Metro 2033 without using automatics at all. I personally mainly used throwing knives, my sniper-pistol and the Volt Driver.

On the topic of Metro 2033, the Knife is completely useless. It's not silent and can't one hit kill, so it's useless for stealth, and you can't really use it against mutants since they do huge damage in close quarters. Even the unlimited ammo thing means nothing, as throwing knives are silent, one-hit-kill and can be retrieved from wherever they hit.

I'm gonna go one step beyond 'worst weapon ever', I'm gonna do a top five (just because I seriously have too much free time).

5- The Blowtorch from The Thing (PS2/Xbox):

The major problems with this gun were it's painfully short range, it's pitifully low damage and that it's made completely obsolete by the fact that you get the dramatically better flamethrower almost immediately afterwards anyway (and there's guaranteed to be more than enough ammo for the flamer so it's not as if the blowtorch even finds use as an emergancy weapon either).

4- The Silenced 9mm SMG from SWAT 4 (PC):

This isn't a choice based on it's effectiveness in-game so much as it's one based on the very idea of it, it's a silenced weapon in a game where you are required to loudly announce your presence to every enemy unless you want to be hit with serious penalties at the end of the level (in other words, what's the point?).

3- The SADAR/Skeeter Launcher from Alien vs. Predator Gold Edition (PC):

To realise what's bad about this weapon you need to stop and think about two things, the most common enemy and the most common level layout. The most common enemies are fast-moving melee monsters who bleed acid when killed (and spray it around when blown up) and the most common level layout is small, claustraphobic and dark areas that tend to be made up of tiny corridoors and cluttered rooms.

Put those together and you'll find a weapon that you'll use...once (perhaps).

2- The Bubblegun from Earthworm Jim (Sega Megadrive/SNES):

It's a bubblegun, do I really need to go into why this is useless?

1- The Flamethrower from Alien Trilogy (PS1/PC):

This weapon was completely useless, it did next to no damage and it's rate of fire and rate of ammo consumption make it a collossal ammo sink (made even worse because enemies go into a short 'recoil' animation when hit that makes them immune to damage) and it has a dreadfully short range (meaning that you'll not only take damage from enemies but also from their acid blood too).

This thing was less useful than the emergancy pistol that required about fifty shots to kill a standard alien (at least that got infinate ammo).

This thing right here....

A weapon that hurts YOU if you don't hit someone in a first person game? Brilliant. -_-

Anything in Dead Island. Seriously decaying weapons can suck my toe nail clippings. Micro managing that crap isn't fun, it's tedious.

The frying pan from fable and it took ages to find the damn thing and it did 0 damage -_-
Actually, if you find all the treasure maps before you get it and upgrade it properly, it becomes close to the most powerful weapons.

OT: I'd have to say in almost any game, your fists once you get a weapon
Really?? I never knew that
